Cavere:
I apply pre-shave only once at the beginning and then lather over it. For subsequent lathering before each pass I don't find pre-shave necessary. Only once before lathering at the start is enough.

That's what I have done but the pre shave before each pass didn't even dawn on me until I was reading this thread.
T&H Pre-shave oil works well for me. I haven't tried other brands, FWIW.
Regarding the Rise Baby Face Shave Gel.
I got my first tube of it from Big Lots for like 1.39$. I have since found it on Amazon and other shops like Walgreens (occasionally they have it).
I think the 4 pack on amazon is a great deal.
Here is the Amazon Link for a 4 pack:
Amazon.com: Rise After Shave Baby Face 2 oz. (Pack of 4) Sensitive Skin (Black): Health & Personal Care
Very inexpensive too!
Good Luck!

I use good old fashioned Noxzema in the blue tub. Inexpensive, lasts a long time and is basically the same as the Prorasso pre/post.
i tried aos preshave oil i got as a sampler and had the best shave yet using it and the shave cream. i went back to the store and bought the sandalwood oil and cream so hopefully it will treat me right.
