But it was then good smelling stubble
Aloha!
Sidebar story on golf and cologne;
My cousing used to be a PGA Official. He liked to wear Xeryus cologne. If you've never smelled it, belive me, you will never forget when you do. "Overwhelming" is an understatement, and my cousin must have splashed it on like he was on fire. I can honestly say he reeked of Xeryus.
He stopped wearing it after, so he said, a few Pro golfers complained that his scent was so pungent, it was interfering with their concentration. Believe it or not. There is no reason he'd make that story up, and in fact, he did stop wearing it, thank goodness. I actually had a bottle back in the late 80s when I worked in an office. I did get a few complaints on the rather "strong" odor. Usually when on an elevator.
I was at a restaurant once when a lady sat down beside me and my girlfriend. Her perfume was so strong neither one of us could eat, so I can relate to no cologne or aftershave while serving food. Good call IMO.
Mahalo!

Done that a few times myself, over the years.
I remember when I bought my first bottle of Clubman. Got in the truck, immediately opened it, and spilled it all over myself because I was kinda squeezing it when I took the cap off for a sniff. Mind you I was on lunch break at work. [emoji38]
:roflmao thanks Mike
ZipZop, I never wear any AS when catering, there's nothing good about getting a wiff of cologne and your tastebuds being compromised.
My food smells so good anyway I could rub my brisket on and have a following
It may be the neighborhood dogs, but it would be a following :D
I have a similar story regarding the first time I smelled Clubman Bay Rum, I picked up my package from the post office on a Saturday, my wife & I were headed out to lunch. We get seated and like a kid in a candy store I decided to open it up a take a sniff, well I may have given the bottle a slight squeeze and ended up shooting some right up my nose. That's all I could smell the rest of the the day...couldn't enjoy the taste of my food either for that matter.
