My first Pinaud Clubman experience

I've been wearing this for two days now and love it !!
It's such an enjoyable scent I transferred it to an old Pinaud bottle to do it justice.

The purists may cringe at this next bit though....?

I cut off the threaded top of the plastic bottle and (sparingly) epoxied it to the vintage bottle.
So I managed to recycle the nice green lid and the "orifice-pourer-insert" instead of resorting to a cork.

I then went to the 'bay and ordered a 6oz bottle of Lilac Vegetal, despite some mixed reviews of this particular A.S.
Wouldn't you know it, after ordering it I found a matching glass bottle with labels and the original top !!
Far easier and simpler than the above process.

I used to love Clubman, but I haven't had any for a while. AS and Soap/Cream 'collecting' is a problem as one needs to USE up the stuff; so I normally have a big splurge about tax time each year, which lasts me for a year! I may add Clubman to the current wish list!

Love the bottle for the Clubman, not so much the Lilac Vegetal :confused:

Hey mate, I had no idea that RAD would lead to HAD would lead to BAD would lead to SAD and on it goes....
I can't find an older LV bottle at present, don't know if it even exists ?....I'm just finding out that glass seems
to make the E.P. stink better than plastic, but this could be a symptom of my OCD-collecting :gaah:

Oh my goodness gracious... They ARE nice bottles. I don't really have a AD at the moment, I just splurge once a year as I said, I don't know how some guys actually GET through all the soaps and aftershaves and stuff...

Just know your post has prompted me to get some Clubman again. also on the AS list is a Bay Rum (maybe Dominica - it's nice and it's cheap, maybe Bigalow) and maybe these [ Fine Classic Aftershave Splash - In Six Scents ] and maybe Speick and maybe Floid.

Clubman is a regular in my rotation. I also obtained and use an old glass bottle.

Now, as far as the "Veg", I am not one of the chosen............

Fair enough Bob, truth be told, I've read more negative comments about LV than positive....but I want to try it nonetheless.
What is your opinion of LV ?....
It's good to see that someone else is "decanting" into glass their favourite A.S.

The hardware store has a bin of various sizes...

Also, I keep some Clubman in the truck so i can be "fresh" on the go.

Been hearing 'bout Clubman and seeing it a lot on 'SOD' for a long time now. Curiosity finally got the best of me and I ordered a bottle yesterday. I've been using Witch Hazel as an AS for 6 years now and decided I would reward myself with a little luxury.

For me, every Friday is Clubman Friday.

Tell you what, the first time I bought a big bottle (plastic) of Clubman, at a local 'beauty supply', I hated it. Being as I'm cheap I used it anyway, and it grew on me ........ figuratively speaking. Same place I bought a bottle of Lilac Vegetal. Smells like rotting garbage to me initially but I got to like it too. Found a big bottle of Bay Rum, called 'Black Magic.' Hated it too but at $4.50 for a big bottle ........ it was under the sink for six months or more, until I ran out of my Pinuad Bay Rum. Got it out and found I like it. Strange these A/Ss ....... or maybe its just me that's strange. :chapeau

Yep, all The clubman stuff will grow on you like a Wart,I hate it all.

Got my Pinaud Clubman in the mail yesterday, tried it last night and love the stuff.....I'm hooked!

Tried Virgin Bay Rum last Sunday, dear lord that stuff burns like a m*f*! But in the end it leaves a caring and comfortable skin.

I've mentioned this practice before. Mine are getting low as I like to add Mine to a sink full of water for a refreshing after work splash . It's awesome. Special Reserve has been my long time favorite.Attachment 171344Attachment 171345

Just a quick update, it's been over two weeks and the vintage LV bottle is stuck in the States for some reason.
I do have a Pinaud "Rapid Tan" bottle with the labels falling off, so I decanted the veg into this....
I have good quality reproductions of the original veg labels (without barcodes) so I'll think about this as a solution.

Cool bottle, I'd leave the labels off...very cool...

I just got the sampler of all 9 Pinaud "flavors" today as I posted about in another thread. I've been test-spritzing them on my wrist just to get first impressions.

The last one I tried was the Veg. Hmmmm....I now get the references to cat piss and urinal cakes. Maybe it will grow on me?

edit: I just conned my teenage son into letting me spray some of the Veg on his wrist. He wrinkled his nose and said, "Dad, that smells like dead people."

I was going to say the same thing.

Well I must be missing something. So many of y'all like the clubman. Must confess I have never put it on after a shave. I smelled it in the bottle an didn't care for it at all. Maybe it was the day or the odor in the bottle. Either way I didn't purchase it. Maybe I need to give it a second chance an if it doesn't work I can pass it on to one of y'all. :shrug:

AhhhHahahahahaha !!! It's a shame really(only my opinion) but it seems like Clubman would do good on a Lilac scent ...but hey, some like it so there are many other wonderful flavors. I love the Special Reserve.....like leather and the woods all in one. :)

Also ........keep that bottle,.....it'll be handy for when the Zombie Apocalypse hits. A splash here a dash there and instant zombie screen.:hmmm::medvl:

I've purchased Clubman the regular stuff and Virgin Island Bay Rum. The Bay Rum is the only one I can stand so far - I want to try the Lime sec or citrus but I'm not sure why.....I can't imagine it being any good
