There was a time when Old Spice was the go to after shave and cologne. Does anybody out there still use it? Also what is the difference between after shave lotions and cologne? Or is there one?Attachment 181340

I use what I have left. I have a little left of the brand when it was made by Shulton. The newer version is not the same scent exactly. Close, but disappointingly different. The cologne is a more lasting scent that also is a little off the regular Old Spice IMO.
Old Spice is my all time favorite. Been using for probably 20 years and it's always good.
Yeah still use it, both the new and old versions. I love burley old spice myself. Fab stuff
I am a 3rd generation Old Spice user. I get the original Shulton Old Spice from India and put it in my glass Old Spice "Flying Cloud" bottle. I also like the Shulton OS cream. I started off the week with it.

50 year user here.
Old Spice was the 1st aftershave I ever used (which was my old mans). Fast forward 20 years and still use it now. The lotion is like a balm.
Last year there was a advertising drive for it in the uk.
Yes, I still use Old Spice AS every now and then both in vintage and modern versions. I have a tube of Old Spice shave cream that I haven't used in a while too. Think I'll try it again.

I have a new, Old Spice Aftershave (not the cologne) that I bought sometime in the last year.
I also have a small bottle of Old Spice Musk, that I got out of a "Free" box at a garage sale this summer.
I also have a large Admiral's Flask Bottle that I acquired at an antique store this summer. I thought the bottle was really cool, but when I picked it up I felt it was full, opened it up and smelled, and amazingly it was still full! Smells great (my favorite to use).

At least 3 times a week. Love the stuff.
Yes, I only ever use OS aftershave. A good old fashioned astringent.
I use it quite a bit but only when I am not going out.
For some reason I have a fear OS may be off-putting to some.
This is probably groundless but I have heard negative comments about OS scent and the one wearing the scent: As in "the old fart smells like gramps:.
Like most, it was my first AS back around 1962.

I have been using Pinaud's Clubman aftershave for a few years now. It definitely is an old school, manly scent, and feels very good and bracing going on after a shave. Highly recommend it. I may have to try the Old Spice too, though. My dad always used that, but for some reason I never really tried it.
I still use it from time to time. My favorite was the "Fresh Scent" that they put out a few years ago.
Big fan here. I'm 38 and hope to have access to this for the rest of my days. It's still on the shelf for a reason. It's a bottle of pure nostalgia to me as my Dad used it as well as my Grandads. I have old ones, new ones, shaving cream and soap, the lot. The old school deodorant was great too, if only I could still find the greenish/blueish sticks of that too. The stuff that burned your armpits when you applied too much...Tabac still make one like that and I enjoy that scent too.
I use the aftershave once every two weeks or so. I'd like to try the old recipe some day.
I'm 29, and love the smell of Old spice. The cologne, original deodorant, and the aftershave. I heard the same complaint a little over ten years ago in high school when I first discovered the deodorant. A rather snarky young lady informed me I smelled like an old man. I informed her that she nagged like an old woman. I like to think I won that peeing match.
I'm sure most of your detractors wouldn't even be old enough to shave more than once every 2 weeks. Hardly old enough o have an informed opinion worth any merit. As for the rest...I put the aftershave on for me, not them. So to heck with their opinions.
Dang, forgotten what it smelt like, was it that good? Might have to re-visit.
I love Old Spice. I can still remember my Grandfather slapping it on after using his safety razor (which was a sight to behold being he had only 6 fingers in total for both hands). I still use it on occasion my wife says I smell like an old man wearing it but, she has no problem with me using my favorite Aqua Velva Cool Blue. Go figure.
I am an old man (66) so if the shoe fits....:tu
OTOH, I have heard the same "old man" comments about the Bay Rum scent.
Using a SR is old school, IMO.
absolutely , it is my top favorite since I was 14 or so.then aqua velva . :)
Old Spice is the generational definition of Manliness....
I just wish I could buy the products of my youth--the talcum powder and the fantastic shower soap on a rope. My mom always got me one of these at Christmas--They've been gone for years, but I still remember how they smell. Would be great to be able to buy some Old Spice Lime again...
I just realized I forgot the shave soap!!! I need that also!

I use the new after shave about twice a month. Would love to find some of the old recipe.
4 or 5 times a week. I often get complements on it. I tell them its old spice and the look confused.
I still use some vintage ones I have from Shulton...my wife loves it....that's the key here!
oh god my first aftershaves since I was 15 Old spice, Brut and Avons wild country. The memories they bring back. I bought a bottle of the new old spice , not very good I must say. Some funky new scent.
I used to watch my Grandfather shave. He always used Old Spice cologne. After his shave he'd put some on my face, too. Probably started when I was 3 or 4 maybe.
I still use it almost exclusively; for over 50 years anyway...
Two AS that I constantly use: the Old Spice classic and Tabac.
I have Old Spice Classic in my bathroom and use it relatively frequently.
The Old Spice Musk shaving cream.....in a cupboard and will probably be PIF'd sometime.
This is probably a valid concern. I enjoy OS but several of the ladies at work have quickly identified it and were quite put off by the smell. As a result I don't wear it much on work days and only occassionally on the weekends. But I'd certainly have no problem wearing it all the time (were it entirely up to me) it's a clean nice smell and I like the way it feels on my skin.
For work days I normally go with a good Bay Rum, Aqua Velva, Clubman or English Leather (my Dad's go to). Brut and Lilac Vegetal are good too. Although the latter is clearly a love it or hate it AS. The old man smell is a non-issue for me as I am indeed a codger :)
I use Old Spice aftershave quite frequently, lasts all day.
Interestingly, my Old Spice haters at work seem to object, not exactly to the smell but to the person who had wronged them that the smell reminds them of (i.e. abusive ex, drunk stepfather, etc.) I guess lots of guys wear Old Spice so it stands to reason that not all of them are gentlemen.
Does anyone use the shave soap, and if so, what's it like?
Cheers,
Noticed this on the back of my Old Spice deodorant this morning:

Nice to see all the old spice love. I used it for a few months but swapped it out for Clubman. I just couldn't get down with the scent. Glad you guys enjoy it.
