You are spot on regarding the 'beloved' alcohol. Despite its inclusion, reaction and astringent benefits in many pre/after shaves, it is NOT friendly to sensitive skin. One of the those presumed benefits is its quick evaporation properties. Yes, it evaporates quickly along with some of the natural oils/lubricants in your skin. In that regard, it's a help/hinderance-drying component to facial skin application. I would use nothing on my face (sensitive) that contains alcohol. I use NIVEA MEN, Sensitive, Post Shave Balm. Same thing goes for aerosol shave creams. The propellant (chemicals) in aerosol creams is not good for the skin. BTW, I do not work for, own stock, or am otherwise connected in any way to the Beiersdorf Co., based in Germany. If it smells good, it must be good for you just doesn't apply.
