    Default rosewood

so i have heard that rosewood is good to use, post-shave. i do have sensitive skin, not super sensitive, more like sort of. since alcohol can be bad to use, like in drying out the skin, especially in the dry colorado environment...is there anything with low or no alcohol that would be good in maintaining healthy skin and/or act like a moisturizer?

    thanks.

There are many aftershave balms that do not contain alcohol. I know castle forbes uses witchazel as a base though its pricy but very good and the trumpers skin food is excellent.

thanks for the input. i found rosewood. did some research for dilution methods, and basically found out that it's evil to get this stuff, unless circumstances have since changed.

but i will not buy it again. i'll use this stuff, then switch to one of the suggested aftershave products.

well, it doesn't seem as horrible as some people make it out to be. but i'll try it, then switch to something other than rosewood.

anyone have any dilution suggestions? or do you think i can use it straight up?

    Good Evening

I might be able to help here...... Is this "rosewood" essential oil ? It is never recommended to use any essential oil ( and definately not fragrance oil ) directly on the skin with the exception of "Lavender essential oil", and even then you should probably do a patch test.

It's difficult to dissolve any essential oil into anything else other than oil. For purposes of a soothing aftershave though you could try Aloe vera gel.....or Aloe juice. Scent around 3% to start and then go up. The standard ratio is 3% - 5% of weight or volume.

Even though the essential oil won't dissolve in the Aloe, just shake the bottle really well right before use. Should work just fine.

    XXWarm Regards, Colleen
