Homemade Tea Tree Oil Balm
I like and use this stuff; I swear by it. A few years back I was surfing around the healthy sites on Google and read up a bunch on the stuff. Not too long after that the local health food store, (which sells oatmeal in bulk at rock bottom prices), the pure stuff was on sale at half price. So I bought some; I am a sucker for half price items. Got it home and initially used it as a mouthwash, couple of drops in a few ounces of water makes a healthful rinse, good for breath and gum disease prevention. The balm is made with melted petroleum jelly and drops of the full power oil. Really easy to make, and it lasts and lasts. I find it great to use as lip balm (put in 35mm film cannisters), for cuts, razor nicks, scratches, etc, etc. Last major use I had for it was a dog bite, I got a little too close to Mr. Bingo's (my 130 pound Plott Hound) food bowl; seems he sets a lot of store by his bowl and he let me know how he felt. I used the balm and it healed quickly with no infection or scar. Anyone want recipes let me know; or just Google it up. Rick
