A great product for ingrowns is TendSkin. The downside is that it's sickeningly expensive because the only active ingredient is aspirin. You can make your own, though.
Preface: This may not be the best idea for those with really sensitive skin. Aspirin is basically salicylic acid and some folks may have a sensitivity to it. Also, it burns like freakin' hell, especially if you have a lot of bumps or you tore your face up while shaving.
All you need is...
- 10 UNCOATED (important) generic aspirin
- 4oz Witch Hazel or any other mild aftershave you have lying around
-There is no third ingredient
Allow the aspirin to dissolve and shake before every use. You can play around with the ratios to whatever suits you and your skin the best. DON'T apply it before shaving as it's pretty drying. You may want to follow up with a moisturizer of some kind. You can let the mixture sit on your skin for a few minutes, also. Make sure to wash it off thoroughly afterwards.
It's worth giving it a shot, especially considering how inexpensive the concoction is. An alum block after shaving may work well for you, too.
