    Default Matching A/S, Cologne, etc.

So here's a random question: How many of you guys use matching A/S, Cologne, Deoderant, Preshave, Soap, and the like? For example Old Spice deoderant and A/S or sandalwood scented Preshave, Soap, and Aftershave? Or, if you don't, what scents go well together?

I try to use complementary scents in my soap an aftershave. I don't use cologne, preshave or othe such frau-frau. My deoderant is unscented.

I like Tabac soap, aftershave, and edc. The price is right too. the soap in a dish is like $16 and 10oz each of the as and edc are 50 bucks (total).

I also just try to keep things in the same ball park. For example, I might follow a sandalwood soap with DR Harris "sandalwood" AS and then Penhaligons Quercus. None of them match exactly, but they are close enough and compliment each other. I also think Bay Rum works well with both citrus scents and vetiver. Rose, vetiver, and lavender all seem to play well together, etc.

I've gone from one extreme, a simple aftershave, to the other. My post-shave routine begins with a liberal application of witch hazel, usually one with a little alcohol, but sometimes without. The stuff goes on like water. I follow with an inexpensive alcohol base aftershave like Osage or some other....one with an initially strong scent that dissapates fairly quickly. Sometimes I then add a small amount of Nivea sensitive balm cut with some witch hazel. Finally a longer lasting cologne. Nothing matches...but I'm left with one scent. Frau Frau or is it froo froo? The girls like it and my skin looks and feels great. I hold no patent...give it a whirl. By the way...unscented deodorant...the alum kind. It works.

Wow, not only does that sound completely insane, it sounds like it works, how you came up with that I don't even want to know, but thanks.

I use Armani Code eau du toilette.
Of course theres no code shave soap, and aftershave costs an arm and a leg. So I arranged with Churley at TGQ to have some custom armani soap made for me. I'm thinking about aftershave too.

I like to match as often as possible. However, this doesn't work out for me more often than not. For that reason, I started using the mildly scented Arm & Hammer Essentials deodorant, and I use witch hazel. This leaves me with a relatively scent free base to not clash with my AS or EDC decision.

Also, the alum block deodorant doesn't work well for me. YMMV and all of that

The only matching products I have are the D.R.Harris Arlington range. Sometimes I'll use the soap, AS balm, and a splash of the Cologne. Oh, and the stick deoderant too. There's something about the Arlington scent I love!

I usually use Mitchell's Wool Fat soap and an alum block afterward (sometimes beforehand, too). Ooh, I also use almost scentless Head & Shoulders shampoo and Dial bath soap. Does having everything basically unscented count as matching?

    Also, I'm curious:

Assuming you mean a standard alum block like is used for shaving, do you use the same block on your face and your armpits? Because that would be totally manly. Also, very efficient. Normal deodorant generally annoys me (it seems like it was conceived and executed entirely by marketing departments), so I might actually give the alum a shot.
