Can you tell us what aftershave you are presently using? Also, what is it that your girlfriend disapproves of in your current aftershave? Finally, can you give any indication what kind of scents she tends to like?
This information will help narrow down to make suggestions...
Its Pinaud Clubman
and she told me she likes seductives scents, but does not know the brand name.
With 10,000 choices out there go shopping and hunt for samples to try.
When you find one you like ask her is she likes it. Try to not do it
the other way around or you will never be happy.
Do not fall for the trap where she says "like his" :)
The classics should not be ignored.
haha so true,
Maybe a Bay Rum? My girlfriend really likes it, and they are certainly classic and masculine. The "authentic style" ones also tend to be fairly subtle after they settle in, which you may or may not like.
Here is my thought process.
According to our friend Tom there are 10,000 aftershaves, only limited number are worth their weight and even fewer of those might appeal to you. Currently there are about 7 billion people in the world about half are women. I don't know about you, but if the logic fits...
Ok, that may not work for everyone. I would suggest Colonial Drug - the hard to find fragrance specialiste they offer sample packs, you could email her to see what they have available and go from there.
Probably good to compromise a little. You don't want her thinking how bad you smell every time she sees you! Take her with you to the department store and sniff a bunch of them together. If you can find one you both like it will bring you together, and she will appreciate your effort. Smell is such an emotionally rich sense, you want it working for you-- not against you :)
Here's my questions for ya:
Do you like the pinaud?
Do you plan on being with this girl forever? If you answer yes to both questions, you've got some research to do to find something else. If you answer no to the 2nd question, keep using the pinaud.
The real question is: Why even get involved with a chick that doesn't like the smell of Pinaud Clubman in the first place? Priorities man... priorities.
ah yes.. this has been a problem for me in the past as well.. a few girls ago i was forbidden to wear the pinaud clubman original.. yet the bay rum was allowed.. i traded up for a girl who liked both..
just try something else that you'll both like.. and i stress "BOTH LIKE".. do not wear something you don't care for simply because she does..
i find most girls in my dating age range like old spice.. give that a try and see what happens.
The correct answer, of course, is to have her buy all your aftershaves - with her money.
She'll be happy, you'll have 500 aftershaves she loves and you'll be able to spend that money you're not spending on aftershaves on something else - MORE SHAVING STUFF!
:D
In the past I tested different AS. I learned that the smell of the cheap ones my wife likes more (and me too).
Since a few month I only use Old Spice and Brut.
Test it and love it.
That's easily fixed.
Just drag her in to a perfumerie one day and start the testing.
Find something that works for both of you, don't stop testing 'till you do.
We can recommend a lot of stuff, but we all have different preferences in what is a nice smell, and what is not.
HAha yes i plan on being with her for a long time, and i wondered the same thing why see does not like the smell of clubman
I'd give up the girlfriend before I would give up the Clubman.
HAHAHAHAH HEY GUYS i made a big mistake in my first post, its my mom who hates my aftershave not my girlfriend. I was asking my self why are they all talking about my girlfreind, and i just relized, but any way they are both happy now
One piece of advice: You should call your girlfriend immediately, and tell her about this thread. If I know one thing about girlfriends, it's that the highest compliment that you can pay one, is to tell them that you confused them with your mother ;)
I'm now worried about a bloke who has trouble differentiating between his GF and his Mum. I sure do hope they are totally different people...Physically...As apposed to a split personality or something weird like that... :p

Never met a woman of any age that didn't totally dig English Leather. It should keep your Mom happy and your girlfriend...well, let's just say interested.
Haha i am just a little embarrassed here, lol i was talking to my girlfriend on facebook chat while my mom was complain about the smell. man i got to think before i write lol, well any way at least my mother is happy, cuz i am still in highschool. and my girlfreind love bay rum more than the last after shave. and i will give English leather a try
hahahah i am graduating in like a months and going to college
From a guy who's just a few years ahead of you...always nod to mom. She brought you into this world, and she CAN take you out! :D
Girlfriends are great, but if you do things right only one will stick around; so keep her happy, but don't kill yourself for it.
Once that girlfriend becomes your wife (whether it's this one or one down the road), then you have to keep her happy!
Oh, and don't post on SRP while listening to your mom AND chatting/txting with your girlfriend.
Peace!
Another possibility is that it's not the scent, per se, but the amount. Many scents are amazing when used very sparingly, but cloying if too much is used. Less is more, especially if you find that your cologne or aftershave is announcing your arrival and lingering after your exit. Your scent really shouldnt be noticed beyond your armsreach, the idea being for it to draw her in closer so she can get a better sniff. For spray cocognes, I spray 1 spray into the air in front of me at about chest height, then quickly walk into it. For liquids, a bare drop to pulse points (wrists, behind earlobes, base of throat) and wherever there might be a nose later on. Clubman is one that I enjoy when used sparingly, but if applied with a heavy-hand, no.
