I let my boy choose out of a couple discontinued pr vintage fragrances for the last 2 days. Yesterday was Van Cleef and Arpels Midnight in Paris and today was Guerlain L'instant.

Brooks Brothers Brooks 44 I wore it for more than 20 Years. In 95’ was in Chicago on business and was out of so he stopped in Brooks Brothers and was told Brooks 44 and 1818 had been discontinued. Pissed doesn’t begin to cover it. To this day I haven’t found another fragrance I like. I called the NY stores to see if they might have some left. The Manager of the Madison Avenue store told me he had been chewed out but at least 20 people names like Walter Cronkite, Eric Serveried, and William F. Buckley Jr. who said his father had worn it. They write letters to the President I’d B.B. as did I. A few days later the Madison Avenue Manager called and said he went looking in the store room and found one case which was 6 six ounce bottles. He gave me first crack at it. Wish I’d bought em all. I bought three. I still have one bottle over half full and one full bottle in the box celephane wrapping intact. A few years later I write another letter when they brought 1818 back.
