Back to my old standard this morning, gents.

In decades of trying many products for wet shaving, I have to say I always seem to come back to Proraso Green and think to myself, "Wow, what a great shave". I guess everyone has a product that just agrees with their skin. Proraso Green happens to agree with mine. I do prefer their shaving Cream over their Soap. The Cream is bit more "slickery" and protective of my skin. Never any razor burn or irritation.

If you saw the thread "Clubman Friday" recently you know I have been experimenting with a "barber trick" to calm down Clubman Lilac Veg aftershave. I put so much on yesterday in testing it that I could still smell it this morning, so I had to continue one more day.

I'm not giving up on perfecting my Shavette form and function.
Proraso all the way tonight, after a long day of festivities. FIRST pass with a Shavette with a Derby blade. SECOND pass with my DE Merkur to clean up what I missed with the Shavette. One step at a time. I'm fine with a Straight Razor having used that for decades, but a Shavette (to me) requires a special touch. And I think I am finding that my beloved Voskhod blades that I love so dearly in my DE do NOT work for me in the Shavette. Derby are much more forgiving.

And since the Proraso Green Aftershave has a "Limeish" scent to me, I always follow with;

Old Spice Lime - Just to kick it up a notch.
Early bedtime for me gents. Long day and busy day tomorrow. Happy 4th.

Thanks for reminding us of Wimbledon. I used to be into Tennis big time and even played in a league for a few years.
The Tour De France has also started. I was a Pro Cyclist when I was younger and still compete in Triathlon so The Tour De France is a big deal to me.
I know it's the heigh of summer when Wimbledon and the Tour De France make an appearance.

...ok so I just got my first bottle of Bay Rum... I feel like I'm floating in a glass of Captain Morgan... which is not necessarily a bad thing! arr... friend or foe? I think I'll stand around like this for a bit and see where it goes...

This paired nicely with the soap today.

I really have to start using the Acqua di Gio gift set I got as a gift.
So after a simple DE shave with Cremo (bit of a hurry this morning) it was my Witch Hazel Homebrew and Acqua di Gio cologne with Acqu di Gio Aftershave Balm and then Acqua di Gio deodorant.
I suppose I'll smell like Acqua di Gio today? ;)

SWMBO came home yesterday with a sample of Kenneth Cole's "Mankind" for me.
So after a straight razor shave with Conk's Lime soap and Witch Hazel aftershave, it was Mankind this morning. Nice fragrance, but I don't think I would actually buy a bottle.

Aloha!
Agreed. Hat tip to Doc and JBHoren. I'll do L'Occitane tomorrow. When I lived in Paris, I was a huge fan of L'Occitane. Their Hand Cream is the only product I ever use for hands and feet. Their shaving products are fantastic, as is most of their product line.
I was sent a collectable Gift Tin of Proraso Green products that just arrived today. Wow. I'll post a pic in "What do you have in the Mail" thread.
So I did a full Proraso product shave today, with Proraso Azure LIme Cologne as the capper;

Barely sqeaked enough L'Occitaine out. Have to re-order asap. Used the very last drops, but just enough.
Proraso Vetyver cream and aftershave balm.
Followed by my last drops of;
L'Occitaine Vetyver.
Proraso's Vetyver and L'occitaine's Vetyver match perfectly to my nose, gents. Spot on. As you know, not all Vetyver (Vetiver) is the same.
