I've just returned from another Avon Expedition. Found one I'd never heard of - the Viking Discoverer. A Viking longship full of Wild Country.

Those are beautiful.
Went yardsaling (new word) yesterday, saw no Avon, but picked up a few other items.
As it turns out, I think I'm missing the sail for the longship, so I'll probably pick up an empty San Francisco cable car and transfer the contents.
My grandma had tons and tons of these mostly cars. I always thought they smelled weird. Now I wish I had saved some.
Posted this in another thread, but my favorite is the 1963 Avon "Close Harmony" barber bottle. Mine contained Wild Country (?).
Well, since the Viking longship is virtually unusable without the sail, I went with plan B. Found an empty Cable Car (also Wild Country) and transferred the contents.

Mauser,
I've never seen one of those trains before, nice.
I will keep my eyes open for a Viking Ship here in South Florida, if I find one , I will send it to you.
No ship should be without a sail. :D
Thanks for the offer. I appreciate that.
I hadn't seen the cable car before either. Just a quick search says 1974-1975. The bottle is clear glass painted green. Each of the end pieces is attached to the roof and the whole thing just sits over the bottle. Here's a pic of the pieces.

This is, by far, my favorite AS container.
It was left behind my my grand father who lived way out in the middle of no where UT, USA.
He passed away 3 yrs ago in a fire on his land (covered in shanty town style buildings with various purposes.)
During the clean up of his property this was salvaged from the belongings.
I enjoy my tobacco pipes, so this bulldog pipe shape is pretty fitting and special to me. The aftershave is not my favorite... I'm not even sure if it's real "wild country" -- it has a baby powdery sent that lasts 10+hours. (If anyone can confirm that "Wild Country", as stamped on the sticker on the bottom reads, it'd be much appreciated.) Baby powder scent does not seem like it's "wild" enough to sport that name.
I use this on family occasions... in remembrance of my grandpa.
That is a great one!
It's nice to have one with a family connection.
