She's been De scaled for a good two years now. The rust was bad around the pin area so needed to come off

That's fair enough then, It should clean up well.
Am I right in thinking you have a 5/8 model.
Just checked my 5/8 it has a fair bit of toe wear and get's honed on 2 layers of tape.
The 6/8 and 7/8 in my collection are only done on 1 layer.
Yours looks to have far less wear and can probably be done on 1 layer of tape.
I'll soon be up to 5 of 7 Bismarcks.
I've got some images of the 7/8 to go up today, and I just won an auction for a Bismarck super.
So far the set is looking like.
5/8 registered
6/8 registered
7/8 German hollow number 500
6/8 Dovo ebony
5 or 6/8 Bismarck super number 11.
Not sure what I'm going to dig up for the last 2! So far all are boxed and I think I should keep that trend up.
So pictures of the 7/8 number 500!

Here's a recent addition, my first vintage Bismarck. Since these pics were taken I've only washed, sterilized and honed it. Love the shaves do far!
You should love the shaves. To my eye that looks like a Fritz Bracht era Dovo production.
It's a very nice blade and looks to be a lot thinner than the modern productions. Should be a superb shaver.
