W&B 7/8" full wedge rescaled in black acrylic. Shaves like a dream..!
Here's my contribution to the Butcher shop club. 5/8 barbers notch near wedge, black horn scales. Shaves like a champ, smooth as silk.

Hi all,
I've just made a Vector drawing of one of the W&B logos, planning on getting it re-applied somehow to my restored blade once its finished.
Uploading it here as a .pdf for anyone to use as they wish. If you open the .pdf in Adobe Illustrator all the layers will be available.
If anyone wants the .ai file, message me and I can email it you.
Cheers!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I came upon this one. The Bow is one of the razors I've been hoping to find since I first saw one. It's really in great shape except for a chip in the scales where someone wasn't careful about closing it. Just got it back from being honed and I'm looking forward trying her out.
Congrats on a great find Miner. It's a beauty! :tu
I have my first couple W&B's in the mail at the moment, one I think is missing scales (large lot...) Anyone doing horn scales from that period? I'll post pics of them when I get them :)
Seems I only had one Wade and Butcher :( but some other goodies so it's all good... Unfortunatly this one has 2 side by side cracks near the heel. I'm ear marking this as a special grind session basicly grinding away the heal till I pass the cracks and polish it up. Shame to let this beauty rot away for something that may be fixable :)
Hello All,
I would like to submit my 2 W & B razors and request admission into the Butcher Shoppe.
The first razor was the 1st I bought on ebay, it appears that the blade had been shortened cleaned it up and made my first set of scales in Cherry wood. It was also my first attempt at honing from bevel setting to shave ready.
The second is a Celebrated Hollow Ground currently being put through the tumbler process thanks to Commiecat's generosity.

This cleaned up nicely and gave me a pretty decent shave. I used it today for the first time.
Heres some of mine, A couple 8/8 Barbers Use, A "Fine India Steel" Diamond Edge 7/8 Wedge, 6/8 Hollow Ground rescaled in horn

Then heres some more that need scales and a bit more clean up, including a 9/8 Barbers Use, 8/8 Barbers Use, 7/8 Diamond Edge wedge, 7/8 Rattler
Attachment 43839
Then some more for scales: Two 6/8 Celebrated Hollow Ground, 5/8 Bow, and a nice clean wedge

I hve scales made for most of them, so pics should be up as soon as I clean them up and make some spacers for the scales. I love these razors, definitely the first I look for when I hit the antique markets.
So am I in? If so, how do I get the lil sign for my signature?
Anybody? I'd love to add a "Butcher Shop" logo to my signature if I'm in this great club. How do I go about getting one?
here's my new WB

many thanks for this beautiful logo, I'll use it also in the German forum.

very comfortable
you're right. It is the underside of a .45 ACP
I love heavy metal :)
no prob.
cutting- super glue- that's it!
I love this machine too.
Might as well make a bid for acceptance... I only have one Wade (that I've kept) and it's waiting for a rescale (I'm thinking this one will go to Max in due time... Some Jade Ghost G10 scales.) It's a bow, in fantastic condition, and apparently an odd one. It has a Barber's notch, and, if I'm correct, that's odd/rare... Just going by word of mouth, though.
very nice condition, congrats!

very old.. but very good
learning by doing... The first one I made myself was the scale with the .45.
But if the original scales can be used for the next 200 years- it would be better than change scales!!!
Tom,
I want that pipe!!! Very nice grain on that one. Beauty of a shape as well. Perfect group 4 size as well----I'm jealous---LOL!
no gunner it's my pipe!
Ah shucks:-( I love paneled bowls like that with a quarter bend saddle bit. Very very nice! Now if they would just bring back the original blend of Balkan Sobraine!!!
gunner,
the bowl isn't for tobacco. It is a bowl I use for the soap.
The bowls are manufactured in Waldenburg, Saxony. It's 7 miles away.
Tom
Gorgeous flame grain never the less:-)
I believe there was a slight breakdown here... Gunner seems to be referring to the bowl of the pipe, and eTom, I believe you are talking about the ceramic bowl next to the razor...
Am I gettin' this right?
Please realize-I am from Germany and it could be a language problem.
I misunderstood gunners post.
If you find any mistake in my posts- please send me a message.
The best:
Learning by doing!
Thanks
Tom
Yep I believe your right Zombie:-)
Tom----I was talking about the pipe instead of the ceramic bowl. No big deal ----live and learn my friend:-)
