Thanks sparq,
very kind.. I fixed the problem, I think, thaks to another super-kind guy of the Club. I think it should be Ok, now, with this sad experience. However, sparq, I will come back in some days with some impressions for you: some pictures you posted here are really nice!!
Thanks!
Ok, here is my first post in the Butcher Shop! Here is my 7/8 W&B that I'm working on. I got this one off of ebay and I'm doing a resto on it... just got the blade polished and now I'm making some scales out of some nice claro walnut with a maple wedge to match this brush I made. I just couldn't wait to post on the shop though!
Thank you Del for posting some more pictures and getting us off of the 3 page banner discussion...lol nice blade
Please accept my humble application to the Butcher Shop.
It would appear Wade & Butcher had an “up scale” line of razors… The Elite… and boy O boy the shave is as good as her pedigree.
11/16th Wade & Butcher Elite. I will try to describe her:
Rounded, square "Axe" point, Jimps on top and bottom of Tang, Thumb notch and Arris back Spine (kinda diamond shape).
'Ello all.
New to straights, and almost a year into wetshaving in general.
I have a W&B, 7/8 wedge with notch and smile.
Currently being restored/restomodded by me, while I use a 5/8 James Johnson full hollow spike :gaah:
Been busy with school lately, so I haven't been working on it much, but here are some progress pictures:
Starting with it as purchased.
Worm eaten scales:

a bit of hone wear and a touch of rust:rofl2::

And current condition of the blade:

Almost all of the pitting is gone, not 100% sure if I want to keep going till it's all gone, or if I should just shine it up, put on some scales (yet to be made) and go for it?
Also, any clue on age of the blade? Over on B&B, I got either pre 1891, or pre 1851 from a couple of members.
