I love those scales! What material is that?
It is called c-tek they use it for aerospace, i had to special order it but i love the look of it. Im going to do another one with a black G10 liner to make it darker. i will post another pick of it when i get home because it has a very cool no wedge floating spacer :)
Just finished a new W&B, the blade has some deep pits so i gave it scales to mach from g10Attachment 142881Attachment 142882
Hi Guys,
Here’s my Wade & Butcher, For Barbers Use 15/16 with blond horn scales and faux ivory wedge.
Since long I was looking for a W&B like this with an extra hollow ground and square point. When Maximilian offered it on his web shop, in this condition, I didn’t hesitate long and bought it. This one was from Max’s own personal collection and had been well taken care of all his years, and boy it shows! The blade is restored to the point where the patina still shows, but only when you look very closely. However, that underlines its 130+ years age and beauty. The recently added translucent blond horn scales are wonderful in sight and touch, and balance the mass of this heavyweight very nicely.
As with all stuff great from Max, this too is a great piece of art. I hope the photos do this one justice.
Thanks,
Paul

Finished up a set and pinned together set of scales with this W&B concave that I have had for a while. The horn scales I found the razor in were ruined and missing a chunk from the wedge end of one side, making them a lost cause. I had rough cut these from a bit of red oak that was laying around and then put the pieces in a drawer for a year. Found them last weekend and shaped and sanded, then waxed them. Kept the idle hands busy.

Great job...I really like the scales!

Thank you, sir. I was really screwing around and used two pennies glued together as the wedge. I probably should have asked for some advice before doing that as I have no idea how that will hold up in the long run or if the copper plating will jack up or discolor the wood at the wedge, but I thought it was a fun idea at the time and had to try it out.

I think one penny should've been enough.

except the W&B 13/16 this was a full resto when bought all are as received (Ebay specials) & I have only done minor clean ups & disinfects etc & honed them to a shave ready state
as I am still debating whether to fully sand etc & clean up the spotted horn as I am liking the natural gnarly looks still
