With the other clans and brotherhoods I thought we could have a display of some Swedish Steel, too.
I'll start with my old trustworthy Jernbolaget, Eskilstuna Sweden.

Love the scales on your Jernbolaget, Olav! :tu
Thank you.
My first (and soofar) only attempt at scale making. Have to get some more of that Baltic curly birch.

OK so I have 5. First is my helj. This is before i worked my polishing mojo and now it is MINT. Second is a 4 razor set I bought and am waiting on. I will have to let you know but my fingers are crossed.
i only have two so far this is the first:
J A Helberg
Eskiltuna
+Sweden+
on top of the"spine" it says "Nollhatte Diamant-Stal Garenti"
on the blade it is etched "Inregistreadt Skyddsmarke No. 6660" with an eagle emblem.
Anyone ever wonder why all the other razor makers bought their steel from the Swedes? :hmmm:
How about a Heljestrand. I got this from Minstrel. Thanks Nicholas.
Looks like it found a classy home. :)
/Nicholas
This is my swede, a Heljestrand No4, haven't shaved with it yet, but I'll guess it'll be nice!
Sorry about the bad pic, I have to learn to take pictures soon!
Here comes two Heljestrand.
The top one is No. 7
Bottom no number.
Now we have Heljestrand No. 4, 7 and 31.
I wonder how many different there are...
Thanks, the pins are brass screws and nuts as described here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/showthread.php?t=15896
this was my first attempt at making scales, I've got this razor as part of a seven day set, but it had a broken scale, so I decide to try to rescale it. It turned out rather nice, and I learned a lot during the process.
BTW it shaves very nice too!
Two of my Heljestrands, a MK No. 2 and No.31, and an Erik Anton Berg. As for the Heljestrand numbers, it wouldn't surprise me if they went from 1 (or 2) up to at least 32. I have 2, 31 and 32 myself. :)
Here's a couple of mine: 2 Heljes. No. 31 and No. 32.
Someone mentioned bad photos before? Look and learn my friend, look and learn...

This is the Johan Engstrom I bought from Philadelph around 2 weeks ago. This is the 6th or 7th razor I have ever bought, so I don't have a ton of experience with different razors, but this one is by far my favorite. I am going to be buying more of these if I can find them!:tu

5/8 E.A. Berg :)
She's a beauty Bjorn! :tu
Some of my Swedish Steel (in various states of disarray :p);
- C.V. Heljstrand No.4
- P.W. Söderén & Co
- C.V. Heljstrand No.24
- Erik Anton Berg
- Some razors in need of [more or less] TLC, from the top:
- Edv. Neiström No 62
- C.V. Heljstrand No.24
- C.V. Heljstrand No.2
Nice collection Johan!! Welcome!!!:tu
My Swedes, in various states of repair. Four Helje's: a 32 and three 31's. A Berg (third from top of the left) and a Bengall (top right). I'm not sure about the Bengall being a Swede, but it doesn't say "Sheffield" like my other Bengalls and it came with a lot of other Swedes and looks like them. I sold a couple of others last week. The 32 at upper left is the prize of my small collection. It's one of a 7-day set with genuine tortoise scales.
P.S. Bjorn, that Berg is a beauty!
All beautifull.
Welcome and thanks for sharing your treasures.
It seems like there are many Bengals in Sweden, maybe they had a good marketing plan :D
My father sent me a Bengall 3/8 wedge that he had got in an auction box of knick-knacks.
What house, family, clan etc would the Bengalls normally go in?
I have a few more Swedes in the mail. Will post when they arrive.
There's a lot of Bengalls in Australia too. They're Sheffield steel - Cadman and Sons. So that would mean they belong in the British Brigade, or the Sheffield Society, or maybe the Cadman Clan, or perhaps even the Brotherhood of the Bountiful British Bengall!!

Excelent choice of litterature concidering we are Swedes on an American forum :D
The bricks that he leans his razors against are a series of novel that are classic in Sweden. They are about a group of people that migrates to the US in the 19th century. That is the very short summary of them.:D
By the way, nice work with your signature. Bringing out the right colours:D
Well there ya go James - it's time for you to start a thread for the Bengall's!
James,
"If you start it we will join" in the voice of Kevin Costner:D
:D Oh, alright! Just give me a moment to get some photos together and I'll start a new thread....
James.
Nice set you've got there Jim. Those thumb notch Heljestrands are great!
I have two submissions:
First, my Erik Anton Berg in custom carbon fiber scales by philadelph:

And next I present to you "Wednesday" My C.V. Heljestrand MK 31 with real tortoise scales. It's one of a seven day set that, and I was privileged enough to obtain the "hump-day" razor.

Nice razors.
I have few new ones that I have to get around to take pics of. Been a couple of crazy months.
I know this is not technically speaking a razor, but I thought it might fit in nicely here anyway.
I got this ages ago from an antiques store in the UK. I'd never really looked at it closely before, but it caught my eye the other day. Amazing what you don't see sometimes. When I got it it had two old razors in it - a Wolstenholm and a Feist Luna. From today it will proudly hold my Heljis:

I guess this was a Paris distributor of Swedish Steel.
James.
Looks very interesting! Hopefully someone can shed some light on this...
