The French Foreign Laceration

Must have been a popular Design during the Beginning of Framback grinding, i guess the Rousselon and the W&B´s come from the same time but im curious who invented the Feaux-Framenack Design, i think it was invented in France (because of a german reference Book of Razor Grinding and Craftsmanship of 1939 where the Framback Design was named "French Razor Style") or maybe in Sweden but i dont have concrete Infos about it.
I like shaving with french Framebacks, especially with those where the Point is wider than the shank because the different widths make shaving especially under the Nose easier.

In his book, printed in 1898, Camille Page writes that faux frameback (in French "rasoir à baguette") are made since about twenty years. ( "La coutellerie depuis l'origine jusqu'à nos jours-T4-P 658)
I found no patent for faux frameback.

To my own opinion this scrimshaw is a poor idea, polish this ugliness up !

I think that from time to time you should ask yourself before posting if there's any way that the person could get hurt by a com' of yours, telling that you dislike and the way you tell that.

Like we say : "La critique est facile, l'art est difficile", and "c'est en forgeant qu'on devient forgeron".

Je ne te reproche pas d'être sincère, mais comme souvent dans tes commentaires lorsque tu n'apprécies pas, je déplore des termes un peu fort. "Ugliness" n'était peut-être pas nécessaire..

Interesting, another #69, I also have a #69 but it's a frameback and the date for this stamp is 1920, Thiers-Issards & Fils.

Here's my 7 day Jaques Lecoultre set. Each blade is numbered 1-7.

One of my newest french Razors, a Veritable Brossard Wedge in 13/16"+ with my favourite type of french horn handle :-)
Seems like it wasnt used often, i cleaned and polished the scales and the blade (restauration and renovation) and sharpened it, but i didnt had luck with the sharpness and so i have to sharpen it again (a friend gave me the tip that some wedges prefer softer slates for finish instead of my hard Lorraine Stone).
