You are very likely correct, how else does a honer cause that kind of damage...

Those are some nice ducks! Thanks for sharing. A nice clean example of the reaper, haven't seen a nice one on the market for awhile. Where did you come up with that one?
Etsy, of all places. It wasn't described as NOS, but based on condition, it certainly could be. Absolutely zero hone wear. I was a pretty happy boy to find it. Been looking for a nice WonderEdge (and having $h1t luck finding one of those) as I'd given up hope finding a Reaper in nice condition. It seems there are still some hiding out there!

my satin wedge is a wicked shaver.
The Satin Wedge is definitely underrated in my opinion. Nice blade
Well some knucklehead though that a ruined blade was worth over two hundred dollars.

Dubl Duck Grim Reaper Straight Razor 100 Shave Ready Lifetime Bresnick RARE | eBay
I guess I am just one of those people who will buy it for the blade and scales, not the other way around. I found it funny that the ad said, "Like New."
Agreed - the, "Like New" must have been the seller not knowing that blade had been honed/damaged, or, just an eternal optimist!
For someone who's managed to get a Reaper blade is nice condition, but scales that are pooched, the cost of these scales and the blade is pretty negligible. If those scales were to be matched with a blade in nicer condition, which may have sold for a similar price but the scales were kaput, a complete razor like that would probably get you around $1,500...or a beautiful, very rare razor for your collection. :)
I happened to have a Grim Reaper that the only thing wrong with it is warped scales and I bought for $60.00 at a swap meet.
Looking closer at those scales looks like the bolsters were transferred onto something else. The surface of the scales looks exactly like when I tried to transfer some bolsters and used poly as a finish. It just didn't look right. Hopefully that isn't the case for whoever bought them.

Upgrading my photos. Here is my first one DD Goldedge that still shaves very well :)
Just got the exact razor with pretty light surface rust all over & a very small amount of edge rot but butter knifed it & working on the edge & general cleanup as I write. Mine just says "Made in Soligen Germany" & no US patent stamp. Paid $14.00 for mine. Can't wait to get it done! So I guess I can join the club now!;-)
Figure I'll join the club...
My mint in box Wonderedge....gotta love NOS condition blades.

I bought entropy1049's!
This came in this week a mint almost NOS the seller and the case said 6/8 but it's a full 13/16.
Beautiful - how do you find the shave with these? I understand all the Goldedge's are uber thin grinds, almost tissue like, I find these blades very, very unforgiving, so thinly ground that a little miscalculation on another razor that wouldn't result in so much as a nick, with my Goldedge at least, it would result in a good cut - the only blade I own that has cut me each time I've shaved with it except once, a slow, terrifying single pass shave...
You are right there Andrew a very fine grind and you do need to take your time and always be aware of that point, I did sell a mint Goldedge 5/8 about 12 months ago and that was a fine shaver but you still needed be careful.
Has anyone ever seen a dubl duck lifetime wedge? I just so happen to have one, not the original scales sadly, but am curious as ive never seen one in wedge form before? Will post pics tomorrow, I have it at the barber shop.
No info on the wedge lifetime duck?
I'm wondering if it is the same type I got a couple of months ago...the blade is actually black...is this like you're asking about?

Yours has hollow grind like the one in post 21
Here's the wedge grind with the original scales, blade finish and not much hone wear: Bresduck Inc "Lifetime - Wedge (Rooster)" 5/8 - Straight Razor Place Library
I don't quite remember if I still have it or ended up passing it to somebody who appreciates it more.
I just happen to know a guy that talked to a guy that had a brother who,,,,,,,
I know, I didn't believe him either but he sent some pics.
Here are some Ducks in a row of the wedge and lifetime persuasion.
Lifetime hollow. ( original scales )
Lifetime wedge. ( original scales )
2 Special Wedges. ( original scales although I am suspicious of the cream colored )
2 different models Satinwedge. ( 1 original 1 custom.)
Attachment 202213
These are all different models. I also believe they are in time frame order. If you know the time frame is different, please speak up.

The razors are not cleaned and so the pics match :<0)
Nice one, wish this one didnt have so much hone wear but it came with a bunch of freebies from a customer of mine with a grandfather who is a barber who had given them to him to give to me. All 15ish straights were shave ready and in great condition tho...no complaints here. Just hadnt seen any wedge variety lifetime ducks.
Ive got a retired barber who stops in that said he used nothing but wonderedges and has 7 he rotates through lol...been trying to talk him into parting with them and a labeled belgium he has...he said he had a 12+ inch labeled escher he had bought in germany when he was posted there during the korean war (he was an Army barber) sadly he sold it a few years ago to someone.
Can I join? Satinwedge- Rescaled with Obnoixous Orange acrylic scales. I didn't like them at first, but they have grown on me. I just hope the old ones were damaged, and that these didn't replace perfectly good scales.

Double Duck Lifetime, "Grim Reaper" - overall a smaller straight razor, but really gave a killer shave, very nice!:D

You got a reaper phrank?
That's the one from the thread you started called, "Reaper"...you were absolutely correct about the restore, except one thing the picture didn't reveal, a small crack on the original blade by the heel, otherwise it would have honed out perfectly. The scales turned out beautifully, polished right up, and thanks to 10Pups, he put me in touch with Voidmonster and he had a spare Reaper blade.
It was a fun project, now it's in a box downstairs, waiting to get traded or transformed into a nice big Sheffield or two....I thought you knew...I posted it to the thread - apologies for not being clearer.:o
