I wish my Edelweiss looked like that! Nice piece, you got there, it surely won't disappoint you.
Hi Everyone!
I was at the local flea market today and found a Boker #2771 with etching on the blade that says "Shaver's Delight". I bought it for $20.
The blade is in great shape, but one of the scales is cracked at the pin and will need to be replaced.
I can't find any reference to this particular model.
Anybody have info on this one?
Just bought this today at an antique shop in Montreal. I'm going to try my hand at restoring it and i'm going to send it in to get honed. My first ever razor.

good luck with your new project! That's a lot of honeware on the toe of that razor though.
Ya, I didn't realize that when I bought it. I'm hoping to be able to even it out a little...
not the end of the world some of my best shavers have had some wear.
I would recommend o use one or two layers of electrical tape during honing. This should restore the original blade geometry and even out the hone wear.
I have two vintage King Cutters. They are easy to hone and take a great edge in fairly short time. This razor will surely become one oy your favourites, my promise! Great buy!
So i've done a little sanding work on that Boker I got and it's looking a million times better. I'm going to give it a polish bath tomorrow and then send it in to get honed(although as dull as it is, I managed to cut thumb pretty deep)
My new 6/8" King Cutter, 3/4 hollow:

Not in best condition, but ok. I cleaned, polished and honed his royalty yesterday and shaved with it today. It has become one of my favourite razors immediately, just like my other King Cutters. I cannot praise these razors enough. The steel is easy to hone and takes a keen edge, but the scales are crap: Tightened with 4 (!!!) friction washer, loose wedge and heavily warped. Exactly the same with my other 6/8" KC. Perhaps I will replace them with wooden scales some time.
