I love the covered tang!
Okay Boker brothers, I am now a believer! I recently picked up my first Boker, an 11/16 round point King Cutter on ebay for about 30 bucks. Shaves like an absolute dream, no pull or drag. I would love to have a 6/8 King Cutter with cream scales, so the chase is on!!!!!
Someone PMd me last year about my Boker.
I can't find the PM. Please get in touch with me again.
Thanks!
Hello, I recently got this Boker Edelweiss razor from and grandfather who recently passed away and I am trying to find some more info on its age. I am also hoping to restore it back to working condition. And help on trying to find its approximate age would be great. I have found some great info already on this site on how to clean and restore it but more help will always be appreciated. It also came with this case if that helps with finding the age of it.
Here are two of mine. Found in local antique shop and still need cleaning...
I'll have to go TBD on posting pics of my Bokers, but wanted to join the fun over here.
I'm trying to at least take a pause in my RAD but currently I've got one of each of these:
Extra Hollow (probably my best WTG 1-pass shaver), "Our Own" Hollow Ground (1061 stamped on the tang), round-point "King Cutter" (may need to get another of these since the etching is nearly polished out), and a pristine Red Injun 101 that's going out to get honed next week
btw, does anyone know what years the Red Injuns were produced? I contated Boker about one of my earlier aquisitions and got told that they don't have an archive department (Henckels was much more helpful with approximately dating a Twin Works piece that I picked up before finding experiencing a Boker).
My Boker king cutter that I bought off eBay just arrived after a short detour to Larry's for a honing. I'm finding it difficult to date it even with the available resources. Does someone with a more familiar eye have an opinion?
More importantly it shaves wonderfully and I'm very happy with it.
Hi :
This is my first Boker. is a "King Cutter" 6/8 but I need to know the production year and the carbon steel kind used? Does anybody help me?
I already made a search but coud not find the same tang stamp on Boker registers.
