Thank you guys for the all the help. What atlus posted here matches with what Engine found the other day. Looks like I have a "spurious and inferior imitation"! Still, it's neat to have and I didn't acquire it believing it was John Barber - only that it might be. Honestly I am a little bummed it's not Barber but at least it does shave well, I got some more practice making scales and honing, and learned something new! I really appreciate the help with this and I will be looking for the chance to pay it forward.
Yes - that was what I'd heard - and that's the exact stamp/mark - that they were so popular, of course along with an Anchor stamp, that quite a few of these popped up. It's a great shaver nonetheless, Sheffield steel, and almost as interesting to have a a "real counterfeit" vintage razor....:rofl2:
Phrank you are correct. A known counterfeit is just as interesting as the actual razor. And to top it off its a quality razor.
I couldn't find the post you referred to "8 days a week(for frame backs)".........................not yet.
The I & J Barber was father & son with Isaac being the father & James being the son. I knew I saw it in my Tweedales Directory:

They used different markings. ERA was one of them & JAMES BARBER was also used.
