I doubt it was made in Germany, there are many Japanese framebacks made by different Japanese companies. I think that particular style razor was nothing but Japanese invention if you will. We have not seen that style offered by Solingen/Sheffield/ French makers.
The way the blade is made is a combo of the stiffness of a heavy grind razor with the agility and thin grind of a hollow ground blade.
LOL - forgot I also had this $67.00 special from a certain eBay seller who specializes in razors and men's fancy pants :o

The good thing about him is that he never cleans them, making them undervalued at the end of auctions.
