Those look like horn scales to me.

I love the finish on the blade!
That is a very early Torrey with Mr Turner's signature all over it.
You can see it says 'Manufacturers of razors & strops' on the tang.
Prior to these early ones, Torrey was strictly a strop manufacturer.
Early JR Torrey from my disused "to be restored" collection. Barber's notch, original box, original everything I think! I can just make out part of the second line on the stamp... This is going to be a favorite once I get it cleaned up.

Just finished this one last week. The scales aren't original to the razor. Shaves like a scalded ape.

Bit of patina.

Musicman that's a nice one, the second line is probably Worcester, Mass, Enjoy!
Now I have to get a Torrey strop!
Thanks guy's!!
Excellent blades. I love mine. Really take and hold a good edge and easy to hone.
Nice!!
Lovely razor, doc. I believe that I was watching that one last week, knowing that I couldn't feed the RAD but wanting to see what it would go for. I'm very happy to see that it found a good home!
