I've seen so many nice ones that I thought it would be great to have a club for all the silver steel blades. I'll get the ball rolling with a teaser from the light box I'm working on.

I have a more recent Silver Steel one from Dovo. It was my very first straight razor. It's a 5/8 Full Hollow Ground with Ebony scales.
Great thread Holli4pirating.
This is my Joseph Elliot, silver steel frameback.

Lovely. I have a EM Dickinson of Sheffield INVICTA Silver King. Too bad I'm a terrible photographer. I will try to get a decent, in focus shot of it.

with apologies to those who CAN take good photos.
you will have to take my word for the moment that the etching on the blade says "Silver King".
I believe those are ebony scales with an ivory spacer, but I will accept correction.
One that I acquired recently. Not sure of the brand, but I'm pretty sure the etching "Feinster Silber Stahl" translates to "Finest Silver Steel." If anyone can translate the rest of the etching, I would appreciate it.
Looks like Russian. If you don't get an answer soon, open your character map in windows, find the corresponding characters, and use them to copy it into google translate. Should get you where you need to be.
EDIT: Or, you could use this page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_alphabet
copy and paste the letters here

wash, rinse repeat.
holli,
Sounds like a great idea to me...
The inscription "Ручаюсь На З Года" comes up with "I bet on the W of the Year." Makes no sense to me, but then again, sometimes translator sites aren't all that accurate...
The horn has some bug holes and chips on the surface but it's structurally very sound and really solid. Nice shaver too, and you don't get every day such a small bevel and spine flattening on a wedge.

Lovely old wedge. Great to come across them with little wear.
Hi everyone,
Here for your consideration is a fine example of silver steel by Joseph Elliot.

Enjoy!
BTW - Is there no Joseph Elliot Club? - Thought they were relatively popular...
Russian. But this phrase on slang.
Here's my entry into the club...Joseph Elliot silver steel. Never been honed until I bought it.

another of my Japanese straights , superb shaver.
beautiful item, congrats!
Thanks guys, it's also ~2" blade, I am thinking it was done like that to emulate size of kamisori razors but might be wrong.
