So this is my very first set of blades ever as I am very new to the whole art of straight blades, these were given to me for a Christmas gift and were my grand fathers, in another post I have learned more about them. Anyway enjoy!Attachment 253715Attachment 253715
Nice first set!
The entire week, very nice.
Great looking sets and saves of them fellas!
I just got a Monday off of fleabay and will be working on it in the future. It's in pretty good shape but one of the scales is cracked.
So as I keep reading and learning here, I might just be able to save that scale and keep it original
E. Stammers, c. 1820, 6/8", scales in mother of pearl and gold 9ct, original box

John Petty & Sons, Garden Street, Sheffield, made for retailer Chas Clements, London. Ivory scales and covered tangs. One of the razors has a piece missing from the pivot end of the scales. The sets's lovely all the razors are honed. One of the razors had a nick out of the edge I managed to hone this out. I think this damage was done by someone before forcing the case open with a screwdriver...
The lock doesn't need a key the little pin in the key hole slides to one side to unlatch the lock. Someone forced the case open I managed to re fasten the keep for the lock with longer screws (the originals were ripped out).
All i can say is WOW. I got to get and old set. I know it will cost me a months pay and maybe dirty looks for a year from the wife but...
Some day!
For that price id be on one. But i hate buying from ebay. People screw you any chance they get when you fork out good money. Small price tags dont hurt so bad. Ill have to start looking.
Ive seen the Henckel set and the germany sovinier set a lot but its always the same two and that makes me wonder. Think id rather have an older.set but we will see. The Henckel is nice looking. The tangs look covered.
I don't have my grubby hands on them yet but... I bought a 7 day set! Yea for me!!!
Mappin and Webb, Queen Elizabeth dressed in Ivory. 5/8 round point. I had a nice offer from a member here that seen I was interested in getting a set. Wasn't ready to throw down the funds but he offered me a price I couldn't pass up so I bit. Should be here on Saturday. Can't wait! Although they need a bit of cleaning and honing. One has a crack at pivot pin and there is a bit of corrosion on the tangs but not on the blades. I think I'll be happy with this being my first set. Now if I can just give-up the credit card!

ok... so just when I thought this itch was scratched... I had to see this thread... I must own a 7 day set now... when does it stop??? Hi my name is... I have a problem...
I got this nearly complete necessaire from ebay for very cheap and stuck a pair of my razors in it, and am very pleased with the result. The case will need some more work but I have begun to clean it up and fix a few small condition issues as well as replace the mirror. The bottles are all ground glass with sterling silver fittings.

It is a shame I can only hit the like button once.
I second that Rez.
That is a really really nice set. Great find
Just sedated the SAD couple weeks ago with a Kanayama and promised the wife I'd pull it in until we buy a house. Resisting the HAD right now as I convince myself NOT to get a Nani SS 12K (need to prefect my 4k/8k first anyway). And now I have a 7 day RAD thanks to this thread.
Think the technical/medical term for you guys is "Enabler".
Seriously nice bladeS gentleman!
I posted these in another thread sometime ago and today I realized I was not a member of this club.

A Heljestrand frameback 7-day set
I think that is the nicest condition leather bound box. The design is also fantastic. An obvious issue at the hinge, but that is easy to remedy.
Wow. So many beautiful razors.
I made my own mismatched 3 day set of le grelot razors each with different scales.
Now I really want to get a 7 day set, it’s been on my want list for a while!
