Ladies and gentlemen:
I ordered the 6/8" spike Revisor. It arrived within a week. After examining it thoroughly, the razor was in perfect shape. Everything was where it was supposed to be, and the fittings tight. I had also asked Herr Kronenberg to mute the tip. He did.
This morning I gave it a second stropping of 50/100 strokes (I already had given it a 50/100 stropping yesterday). Not sure it was shave-ready, as I have discovered almost all factory edges are not, especially with my heavy beard, I had another razor standing by already stropped just in case.
I used an Edwin Jagger soap with a tiny squeeze of Pre de Province cream, John Allan's Slick Water pre-shave, and an Edwin Jagger 22 mm. super badger brush.
Well, now, my Revisor was sweet as Cleopatra's lips. Oh, yes. Three passes and no dulling whatsoever. The balance was perfect for my hands, too. Alum block after the shave, a nice aloe vera balm and a touch of Taylor of Old Bond Street No. 74 Victoria Lime, and I was smiling and making eyes at her Royal Highness.
I am delighted with my Revisor 6/8" spike as I am the service and care I received from Thomas Kronenberg and Revisor. Thumbs up all the way. You have my recommendation on the razor and Herr Kronenberg's crew.
Regards,
Obie
good day from athens beberlin i read all you treads and reviews an i would like to ask you about the quality of revisor the sharpness of them compared to thiers issard an compared to old sheffield wacker also if it is possible i would like your knowledge for the wackewr best tradition in terms of sharpness compared to old sheffield wacker also can i trust new revisors in terms of quality and if their meisters are well skilled in order to succesfully forge a straight razor just like mr karl wacker?
Καλημέρα, Petros,
Sharpness comes with whoever hones them. As far as edge retention is concerned, I could see no difference between the only TI I had for more than a month (the 1/4 hollow 6/8 Grelot with thumbnotch), the Wacker OS, and the Revisoren I own. The Extra is now 10 shaves in, and still has the edge Lynn put onto it.
As I said in my reviews, I would buy another Revisor any time. I would also buy another Wacker any time.
Happy shopping,
Robin
hi from athens beberlin i need your help about the quality and meister skills and craftmanship of revisors compared to wacker and thiers issard in terms of sharpness and built quality also your opinion on revisor 8/8 compared to 7/8 wacker od sheffield and at last how the wacker best tradition is compared to all of them above :boohoo::) please Art.Nr. 1031
My new 6/8" Revisor:

I thought that it was time I showed my membership ticket to the Revisior Club. It's an 8/8 Revisor Extra. It's very nice to shave with as well.

Very nice johnmrson, congratulations. Thanks for sharing!

I have been collecting razors since 1968 and some seem to shave a bit better than some others. I have more than 100 razors like TIs, Wacker, Williams, Filarmonica, Rodgers, Puma, Ern, DD and numerous others but my 3 Revisors are right up there with the best shavers I have.
I would never sell these Revisors for any reason. Super quality stuff here. As a matter of fact, I have never sold even one razor in my life. I keep them all because they are all keepers.............:):)
Wow. Jerry, you've tasted some of the best, and you consider these that good? That's something. I don't know if any of the vintage revisors are heavier grinds - it looks like all the new ones are full hollow.
That's the most serious blow to my Wacker fixation yet. Thx for posting.
Great, looks like I have another club to join....
Awesome razors folks, keep the pics coming!
mrsell63, congratulations for your beautiful collection of the Revisors! :tu
Cheers,
Bela

Xmas present from the wife. Sorry for crappy pics.
A few of my Revisors and a GOTTA...
http://vernsdidj.com/pictures/misc/r...isor-Gotta.jpg
They all came in the same box from Thomas. The GOTTA "sings". I have a "blue" gold/wash "Solingen Extra" Revisor that sings as well. Outstanding shaver.
It's picture:

Hi guys. I was looking at the site and wanted to order a straight but they don't have a Order system. How do you order them.
Look around here, maybe you get lucky:

My Revisor 8/8 Crown Jewel. I have plans to obtain 1 or 2 more Revisors in the 5/8 and 6/8 flavors in the near future.

You have to conatact Thomas Kronenberg via email. You can do that at the "contact" site, tell him which model you would like a price on for buying, and without the VAT, and he will tell you what the price is and shipping and include the fee for paypal. If you agree to that, email him back and he will send another email with an invoice and simply go to PayPal and send money to his email address and put in there the invoice number and the item(s) you want to buy (stock number) and in paypal you select Euros and it will re-calculate what you will be paying in U.S. dollars. That's about it. I ordered those 3 and he was going to hone them over the weekend, and ship on Monday. I got them the following Monday in the mail. Also, depends on customs on how long shipping will take. In this last case it only took 1 week.
My latest Revisor purchase arrived in the mail Thursday.
As far as I know its their only stainless offering: model 6-0005

A work of art! A thing of beauty!! Congratulations on spending your money wisely on this investment!!!
How does one find info on the tracking number that Revisor gives ya? I can track mine to the U.S. but that's it.
Once its in USPS hands you can use the same tracking number on the USPS site. (At least that works for Canada post anyways). I never got a tracking number with mine...I'm jealous.
I tried that without results. I'll just have to try and wait patiently.
Good news, it arrived safe and sound.
Here are a few pics.

Woa, she's a beauty :) Must.... resist....
Is a beauty! Don't ya just love those shoulderless razors?? And the file jimps on top are great for hanging onto when your hand gets a little wet. Beautiful razor there Wid!
Thanks a lot Vern, it is a super nice razor. It fits the hand so well it makes shaving such a treat.
So I have finally pulled the trigger on one of these Revisor razors.
I've been thinking about it for a long time, but for some reason never got around to it before now.
I look forward to receiving it, I find it quite beautiful:)
It is a Müngstener Brücke in 8/8.
I've used the photo from the website where I bought it. I hope that is okey.
I'll replace it as soon as the razor arrives!
