Stainless will still rust if you forget about them and leave them in less that desirable conditions.

I got my first really great shave from my Dovo 6/8 Special that I bought from SRD. It's the only modern production razor in my rotation, but it's every bit as good a shaver as my vintage blades. Being replaceable, it's also my travel razor.
I always thought that my dovos would give TSA fits but they didn't. I always put them in checked bags. My Gillette Super Speed gave TSA problems not my dovos even though both were packed in hcecked bag. Wierd hunh?
I have 3 Dovo's
Pearlex
Bismarck 5/8
New C-mon made by Dovo
Love them all!!
I have a Dovo 25 with ebony scales that shaves nice. It was my first straight.
I would love to get a Stainless.
As I'm sure many others have followed the same path, my very first razor was a Dovo Best Quality 6/8. After shaving with 20 or so razors, I would still rank that blade among my top 5. I ended up selling it, and at this point, I am sad that I did.
I plan on purchasing another Dovo soon. I was always happy with the shave I got from my "Best" even having no technique or skill.
I would like to purchase a Renaissance even though many despise the look of this blade. To me, it has character and I am waiting for it to be included in the SRD "monthly straight" discount.
When I get it, I will happily and proudly join this club.
I have a Dovo "Best Quality" razor. So far it's my only straight, so I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I love shaving with the thing.
My first "new" razor was a Dovo 6/8 Best Quality purchased from SRD. If you want a basic razor that gives a good shave without a lot of extra eye candy etc. give one a try.:)
My first two, and only two, razors are Dovo. 6/8 Bismarck with black scales and the 5/8 black micarta. Just got the micarta today and shaves great! But then again...so does anything honed by Lynn. Would like to add a pearlex and a spike point to the collection.
The first razor I bought and learned how to shave was a DOVO Best Quality, it is still in my rotation; matter of fact I shaved with it today, here is a pic of the SOTD posting.

My Lynn-honed Dovo 41 (stainless/ebony scales) is the only one I've bought brand-new. It's my baseline razor--tells me how sharp a straight should be. I like the extra washers between the blade and scales. It shaves great, looks nice... very functional.
The only reason I don't rave about it is that I'm more excited about the ones I had to hone myself. I'll buy another Dovo (a half-hollow Best Quality) when the RAD gets the best of me.
I have 3 Dovos and a Boker all in rotation. Like em all, no complaints on any of them. :)
I have a Dovo. NOS No. 55 and it is an awesome daily shaver. I also have a Dovo Best Class and it is also another great daily shaver.
I started with a Dovo Special and it was a great shaver as well. So thumbs up on Dovo!
Any blade can shave, but the good ones hold their edge, give a BBS shave day after day, and can easily take an edge when its time to sharpen them up again.

I have a Dovo Bismark Red that I use daily and love it.
I just bought a Dovo Prima Klang, I'm a newbie and everyone said ohhhh, stay away from that blade, it's too much for you. Well I had about 6 shaves on an old blade I got from the Whipped Dog (which worked ok) but I have to tell you this DPK is awesome. I got it brand new in an unopened factory box, lapped it on my balsa lap strop (also from Whipped Dog) and put it to the leather and it is smooth. Now I am sure with a professional hone it will improve far beyond my medial skills, but I am very impressed and plan on buying a couple more and putting them in the rotation. Anyone else out there have a PK? Let me now how it's working for you.

My first straight was a Dovo from Steve at The Invisible Edge. I'm not sure which model it is...probably a best quality? or whatever the entry level razor is. It came in a shaving kit. It came with a nice brush, stainless bowl, alum, styptic, and a 1.5 inch strop. I replaced the strop because it was barely usable.
I ended up with some blunting and other beginner issues on that blade. I think I'll have to hone it and give it another try since I now know what I'm doing.
I'm sending it to Max this weekend for honing.
My first Dovo was a 5/8 round point Col. Conk, unused. I like this one because it has a nice weight to it, no pull or drag. I'm pretty sure these were made by Dovo. My next one was a 4/8 round point with faux turtle scales. I have a new 6/8 Dovo Best with blonde scales on the way. I also have a 6/8 Fritz Bracht on the way. Love those Dovo's!!!!
Well, I got my 6/8 Dovo Best and my 5/8 Fritz Bracht. I couldn't be happier with both. LOVE the weight and feel of the Best. It didn't take long to get it shave ready, and it gave a very smooth and satisfying shave. The Fritz Bracht is just gorgeous and the shave is fantastic!!!
You just cant go wrong with a Dovo... If you are just starting out or have used a straight for years they are excellent. I have around 30 differant
brands of razors and the Dovo is the old reliable.
Here's my main shaver. I have a few other razors that aren't shave-ready, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I do enjoy it.

After finishing with my W&B last week, I thought to myself, that is a tough one to follow. Then I grabbed the next one in my rotation, a Dovo Perlex. No, it wasn't that difficult after all.
I picked up another Dovo from a buddy of mine for a superb deal. It's a basic razor, but man did it shave beautifully! Kinda makes me think I screwed up the edge on my main Dovo stropping it incorrectly, that's how great of a shave this new one gave me.
I'll post pics when I get home.
Here's my newest addition! I think I'm gonna go for a 7-day set of Dovo's. All different kinds. We'll see how that works out. In any case, this one really is an awesome shaver, and it's their most basic blade.

My first razor was a Dovo Best Quality. Two weeks later I bought a Dovo Speacial. For someone just getting into the straight shaving game, these two shave very well. At least for me!
I picked up a Dovo BlackStar a couple of weeks ago, from SRD. It is my favorite. I don't know if it is the newness of it, or how nice it looks. Even with my beginner skills, and the not so great shaves I get from any straight (I still touch up with a DE), The Dovo gives me the best results of the three I have. Very nice piece of German steel, and nice to look at, too.
I have one Dovo in my rotation too. Got it from the Ebay in the NOS condition.
It is a 6/8 vintage Fritz Bracht #25 with gold plated shank and aux mother of pearl scales.
It shaves as it looks- splendid. Do not ask me sell it!
I began shaving with a Dovo Bismarck straight about 5 years ago. It was the only razor I had until a few months ago when I got a 6/8 Wacker Red Head. The Bismarck has definitely treated me well these years but I'm likely to pass it along soon. Although it is a great razor I've begun a new love affair with Wacker razors.

My first ever Dovo, a Fritz Bracht arrived today. First shave with it will be in the morning.

I just purchased an ivory micarta ss inox from SRD. Does anyone else have one? Used one before?
I've used a couple as well and I agree with Dylan about the scales, they are a bit chunky for my taste. Other than that they're fine shavers.

My daily shaved for two years was a Dovo Best Quality 5/8, but what puzzles me is that the BQ is the base-model, and mine has some very nice work to the spine. It was part of a set from Col. Conk that I managed to free. That beauty has given me wonderful shaves every time. I wouldn't mind a bismark in my future, either.
First shave was with the dovo 5/8 ebony spike point Personally I like the way it looks Attachment 73220Attachment 73221
I currently have two Dovos, a "Master's" and a "Flowing", (SOTD Pics) both well made and nice shaves. Just a shame that they no longer stamp the Tangs, preferring instead to etch them. I've also just ordered a 6/8" Pearlex.
