Offering a 7/8 Joseph Wostenholm & Sons 'EBRO' (Sheffield) true frameback square point razor with original buffalo horn scales and lead wedge. The tang stamp reads 'Joseph Wostenholm & Sons | +EBRO+ | Perseverance Works'. I believe that it dates from the 1860s.

There is staining and light pitting on the blade but not near the edge. The tang stamp is quite clear. The blade has been lightly polished; the scales have been straightened, rehydrated in neatsfoot oil, lightly sanded, and polished. The razor has been repinned with new brass bullseye washers and brass pins.

The razor is freshly honed on Japanese natural stones: sharpening and pre-finishing on a Shinden Hon Suita using a full Asano Mikawa Nagura progression (Botan, Tenjyou, Mejiro, Koma), and final finishing on a Nakayama Kan Kiita with Tomo Nagura and then plain water. Honing was done without tape.
