Manufactured 1847-1991. Back of blade almost straight with Barber notch tip and single shoulder. Blade measures approximately 3 x 13/16. Very light etching on blade almost visible. On shank “GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SON'S - CELEBRATED I-XL RAZOR - WASHINGTON WORKS - SHEFFIELD”. Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Original I-XL scales cleaned and polished. Bug bites filled with Superglue. Break at tip of pivot end fixed with Superglue. New nickel silver pivot pin and washers.

Manufactured 1821-1854. Back of blade straight with Barber notch tip and double shoulder. Blade measures approximately 3 x 6/8. On shank “Backward and forward 'C’ with Maltese Cross in center - JOSEPH ELLIOT - BEST SILVER STEEL”. Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Pitting here and there on razor. Original honey horn scales cleaned and polished. Soaked in neetsfoot oil. Original domed washers and new brass pivot pin. Comes with case in good condition.

Light coat of oil for protection on blade. Please look at photos as they are best description.

Honing: One layer of electrical tape on spine. Bevel set on 600 grit diamond hone. Then 6000 water stone and finished on 12,000 oil stone, then glass plate. Then stropped on canvas with diamond paste and then leather and disinfected. A $18.00 VALUE FREE

I personally test shave each razor before final disinfection. Shave ready is different to each person. Factors like light or coarse beard or beard length come into play. I have a heavy beard and test shave every razor on a two day growth. If razor gives a close comfortable shave I call it shave ready. If it does not shave right I re-hone the razor.
