You are bidding on a Vintage Silver Plate over brass Shaving mug. The holder measures approximately 2 1/4" high by 3" wide. Handle with brush rest looks like pewter. Plating is 98% there. Base has a floral pattern. Milk glass liner in great condition. No chips or cracks. Lines on inside bottom of liner were from manufacturing and are on surface only. Liner measures approximately 2 1/4" high by 3" wide. Marked on bottom "Acme".


Perfect addition for any collector or shaving enthusiast. You find them once in a while but most are missing the milk glass liner.


(14) Manufactured 1840-1890. Back of blade straight with square tip and single shoulder. Blade measures approximately 2 3/4 X 6/8. On shank "MANUFACTURED BY - WADE & BUTCHER - SHEFFIELD - 'B' IN CIRCLE, ARROW AND MALTESE CROSS LOGO". Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Heavy pitting on back side of blade mostly sanded out. Very tight hairline crack about 1/2" from heel does not affect shave. Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Dark hard rubber scales with new brass pivot pin and washers sanded and polished.

(13) Manufactured 1840-1890. Back of blade hollow with Barber notch tip and single shoulder. Blade measures approximately 3 X 6/8. On shank “W. DAVISON & SON'S - SHEFFIELD“. Some pitting on blade. Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Horn scales sanded and polished with new brass pivot pins and washers. Missing piece at non pivot end rebuilt with horn dust and super glue.

(3) Manufactured 1850-1890. Back of blade straight with square point and single shoulder. Blade measures approximately 3 1/8 X 6/8. Light pitting on blade. On shank " 'STAR & MALTESE CROSS LOGO' JOSEPH RODGERS & SON'S - CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES - NO. 6 NORFOLK STREET - SHEFFIELD". Blade cleaned, polished and honed shave ready. Honey horn scales sanded and polished with original domed washers and pins. A few bug bites filled with superglue.

Light coat of oil for protection on blade. Please look at photos as they are best description.

Honing: One layer of electrical tape on spine. Bevel set on 600 grit diamond hone. Then 6000 water stone and finished on 20,000 Jasper. Then stroped on canvas with diamond paste and then leather and disinfected. A $18.00 VALUE FREE.

I personally test shave each razor before final disinfection. Shave ready is different to each person. Factors like light or coarse beard or beard length come into play. I have a heavy beard and test shave every razor on a two day growth. If razor gives a close comfortable shave I call it shave ready. If it does not shave right I re-hone the razor.
