My 3 straights, 2 unknown.

all 3 need some restoring.

these 2 i dont know the make. googled some and didnt find a thing.

first one needs alot of work.

this one i shaved myself with but isent perfect.
real hollow ground german make is on the knife.

The Aquila looks to have a classic case of cell rot. I would get those scales off in a hurry.

I think that you should send the "Real" straight out for honing, so that you have a good reference / backup razor. The others are good restore projects.

Unfortunately I don't recognize any of the brands.

The second one shown is from Carl Schmitz Solingen (aka Caschmiso). Indubitably a fine razor like most of the old ones from Solingen, Razor makers

hey jonathan i am taking it with me tomorrow as i will be buying a new Dovo.
i heard say that the shop where i am going does restoring aswell.
but i am taking them only for advise and honing.

Richard Schmitz, Solingen, Friedrich-Wilhelm-Strasse 53 in 1939. Brand name: 'Caschmiso', 'World Shipper'. Open-blade razor maker.

I think that Carl and Richard Schmitz were related - I have read that they were brothers on another forum.

Both shared the same address:

The above is from the archiving industry site and shows that Carl was at the Friedrich Wilhelmstr. 53 address first (in 1922 and 1925, then in Katternbergerstrasse 177 in 1939), so he was probably the older of the two.

The Solingen addressbook for 1931 does not list either as at that address in that year, but does mention another man:

the abbreviation 'kfm' for occupation means he was a sales- or accounts manager for Carl Schmitz & Co. The address is the residence of Wilhelm Gross, not that of the company.

Here is a Carl Schmitz 'caschmiso' razor (NB: the name obviously comes from Carl: CArl SCMHitz SOlingen)

havent got much time lately but cleaned up the cashmiso a little bit and its allready a bit better now but will post a pic of it soon.
