No Tom, In 1902 the company was formed as Union Razor, and in 1909 changed its name to Union Cutlery and moved to Olean NY.

Right now on eBay there is a Union Cutlery Solingen, box only. Wonder what's up with that????
I strongly suspect that Union Cutlery did not resume making Straights after WWII. The popularity was down after the war and they might have gone strictly knives. The German made ones we are seeing were obviously "bought out" so they still had some in their offerings.
This is interesting. I have always assumed there were two different companies. I have a razor with a tang that is stamped Union Razor-Cutlery Co. Union City, Ga. But I have seen the Union Cutlery razors such as the Spike and they seemed to have been from New York.
Is it possible that there were two different companies?? I ask because I also have a razor marked Dixie Manufacturing, Union City, Ga. which I assumed (rightly or wrongly) was made by Union Razor-Cutlery Co.
Anyhow--both of these are very good shavers!
