Well, I've been sitting here with too much time on my hands thinking of all the problems people seem to have in evaluating the condition of a razor especially the ones they sell on Eboy. So I thought wouldn't it be convenient to have a standardized system for grading razors. It would have to be easy to use, very simple and something we could all refer to in simple terms and we would all know what each other was talking about.

So I set out to do some scientific testing using rigorous means and came up with this system. Now this system assumes we all have vision corrected to about 20/20 one way or the other.

Now I said to myself if I was looking at the meanest ugliest, badest of the bad broken up razor I've ever seen how far away would I have to be to tell it was a piece of extreme junk and what I came up with with is in a room with average indoor lighting its fifteen feet. So that would be a fifteen footer. A Razor with the minimum of visable imperfections things like very minor chips can be seen from a distance of three feet so that would be a three footer. Severe rust and corrosion can be see from about fifteen feet also.

So by using the foot rule we would all know what we were talking about. When you see a particular razor and say hey thats a 6 footer we could all visualize what imperfections would show up at this distance or any other. We could all contribute by posting different types of problems with razors and how far away you can detect them
