First pic is before the restore (only one I had showing that side). Second is after restore, the origonal scales said Military Razor, the tang has our Eagle holding shield and arrows. Makes me wonder is a soldier used it. Great razor, very thin grind.

i have the hercules and will try to post the link .he made the first barbers chair here in the u.s. and it was used in the movie time machine with johnny depp.it is german steel made in solingen,and my hercules is on show and tell you can check it out it has tortise scales and was nos when i found it ,i love the grind and it shaves closer than any other of my 20 razors with 1 pass.u have a rare 1 ive not seen many and you can search him up on google.
My particular one in general is rare or all of eugene berninghaus razors are rare?
in my opinion they are all rare these are the only two i have seen so far and ive been into this for a long time.
ive been looking for the solingen maker ,and i havent had much luck.my guess is yours was issued to or sold in the military.that would probably make it even more hrd to find.just a guess.mine is also a very thin grind.pics of it in this link;hercules,witch is the same name as his barbers chair.
Awesome ya, im keeping it for sure. I cant find much info on manufacturer also or how many are out there. I have cleaned it up since then will post pics later so u can see it cleaned since they are so rare if talking dollar values restored are they worth alot? Like up there with dubl duck etc? Were these possibly not sold to the general public?
im not positive they were sold to only military ,just going by what you stated in your previous post.as far as its monitary value i have no idea,like i said they are soligen made blades and you can find most of the info on the maker that i have on this thread.id like to see after you clean it up.it looks like it will serve you well.i dig mine.from what i gather the double ducks price is high because of supply and demand.they are very popular razors,but not nessasarily any worse or better than yours,only more demanded.it is all a matter of opinion my boy,i have an union cutlery extra hollow that is new old stock and it shaves better than my 200 dollar whostys.i only paid 20 bux for it .so u see its all in whats most comfortable to you.have a good day.
