Very nice! I really like the gold on it :tu
Can't wait for mine next week...I didn't shave yesterday (was too sick to bother) and I'm thinking of just waiting to shave until mine comes in!

I second that recommendation. There seems to be a default to Dovo or Boker when it comes to new razors, especially when recommending one to a new guy. But Revisor offers a great deal of quality razors with many different choices in style and size. You made a great choice.
One of these days soon I am gonna get one or two from Revisor. Their site is awesome sick, with LOTS of variety. I have never seen so many different razors in one place. Prices are okayish, too. Not great, maybe, but realistic. If I could justify it, I would buy a whole basket of assorted razors from them! (My Dad might get a little irritated, though!)
Then again I just saw a Bismarck for $132 on SRD! Mine cost $160 when it was new, shortly before I acquired it.
It arrived today - 5 days from Germany to the UK is good.
The razor is very nice, but its not shave-ready - it isn't tree-topping arm hairs very well, and the bevel isn't quite set right back to the heel, so I'll have to do a bit of honing before I use it. But overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Have u tried shaving with it..?
I felt the same way u did about it not being shave ready. . Until I gave it the shave test... test shave it first
Mine was not. Under a microscope the edge was not very happy looking. I needed to reset the bevel. This is the one I got.

Off topic a lil but white microscope are u using..
It's a hand held 200x microscope from Amazon. I've used lower powered ones but found that the added magnification really helped me see what was going on. They are cheap and good little tools.
I don't think I would get too worked up over whether a new razor is shave ready or not since everyone's conception of shave ready varies. My Revisor, purchased new a year ago, was shavable but not what I would call 100% shave ready. It is now and I am more than satisfied with it.
It seems that all of the new made razors from major brands have variable edge quality from the plant so it is not a knock on Revisor quality. If I were to buy new again I would not hesitate to buy a Revisor.

I did a 8/12k pyramid today with my new revisior.. mine was shave ready. Was it to my exactly liking. Not really but im working on tuning it up.. so next time I shave will see.. if not ill drop down to 4 k
U cant tell if a razor is shave ready or not by looking at it. But u can tell the edge condition. .
I got to my new Revisor today and had a close look with a loupe, and it hadn't been honed all the way to the heel - there was a grind, but I could see the honing had stopped short. The blade has a bit of a smile at the heel, and it looked like the honing had been done very straight and had just missed the heel.
It didn't take me long to get the bevel set all the way to the heel with the Naniwa 1k, and then I did a quick progression through to 12k and it's really nice now - it's next in line for a shave.
The blade actually feels really good - nicely-finished and well-balanced.
Im gonna shave mine probably tomorrow. I did a lil 8/12 pyramid.. the bevel seemed set because it is shaving arm hair and I shaved it .. it seemed fine like I said but just not there yet.. hopefully it will shave the way i like tomorrow. .the original honing was done without tape. So next time im taping on the touchup
Mine just arrived in Canada...hopefully tomorrow or the next day I'll have it!
I'm getting impatient! :p
Good luck brother
I just had a shave with mine, after a touch-up to 12k Naniwa, and it was excellent - very sharp and smooth, and the little 5-0006 is very nicely balanced.

Well I skipped over the revisior yesterday to shave a green lizard I had just gotten.. It needed a touch up so I did that and it shaved like a dream next shave revisior
Well, I finally got mine this evening and took it for a test shave. I'm quite impressed with it overall...pretty smooth shave, definitely shave ready with a very nice edge on it. I gotta say I got a very nice shave! Even against the grain it was pretty impressive. I may or may not give it 5 or 6 light strokes on my naniwa finisher.
:tu to Revisor!

I touched mine up with a 8/12k pyramid and it really became even better..

Shaved the revisior today was great.. I just noticed the back of the razor had some slight scratches on it after polishing it. Revisior will give me 5 pct off next order.. Or replace the one I have lol.. Now that I have it tuned in ill take the 5 pct off lol
I was looking to order another one but it seems production is backed up 12 weeks anybody else have this problem
Haven't tried to order another one yet lol I wish they made a heavier grind, not just full hollows.
On another note the bevel on mine is really thin and feels/sounds weird when I strop it. It's also not as even as it could be. I'll probably send it out to a pro soon to get a better edge on it...I want to see how wicked an edge it can get :)
I picked one up from the classifieds here a little while ago, just waiting for it to finish getting honed, but it's certainly the biggest razor I own (8/8 hollow), way out of the comfort zone for me, but hey, you gotta live life on the edge sometimes eh???? :D
Like many, heard a lot about Revisor, so that was enough for me to grab this one:

Not necessarily! Two years ago when pinklather and I went together to buy one each, his was in stock and ready to ship but they were out of mine and it would be a 7 week wait. We decided to wait. A few days later we were notified that Revisor had held a week end production and that both razors were being shipped!!!
While my razor was very Plain Jane, it was perfect with no warp or any other problem, however pinklather’s had problems!!! If he wishes to comment I’ll let my very good friend do it on his own!!
As I said earlier, my factory edge was decent but after a ride on my hones it’s a great shaver!!:tu
