In one of the old books I've read on the cutlery trade, I remember someone saying that people that worked the trade could tell which individual was responsible for which blade based on small but characteristic details. Sadly, all that kind of deep trade information is completely lost. It's doubtful any of it was ever recorded, and even if it had been it's not clear it could have been recorded in a way that'd be helpful to us now.

Sad indeed Zak...but I suppose that for me anyway the 'history chase' as it were is good enough. With the info that you have provided for this razor...educated guess or not... I at least have, as I expressed to Martin, 'a history story or sorts' to tell when asked about this razor. To me that is way more satisfying than just saying "I don't know".
