Default 250 GAMERX best shave to date

Ok finally got the confidence to hone up my Grand Dads heirloom 5/8 250 GAMERX, full hollow double ground round point Wald Solingen made razor
And was rewarded with my best shave to date near perfect BBS
5 months in, 2 shaves in a row
no harshness at all on my face,
I just love it my Grand Dad taught it well.
honed Naniwa 1k to Norton 4/8k, 50+ on felt then 100+ on leather
just waiting for my Nani 12k from Maggards to get here to fine polish a bit more to try top it off
now just to get the rest of the set to the same standard

Excellent, I am sure part of the enjoyment is to do with the significance of the razor to you. Sorry that isn't supposed to sound like I am knocking either tge razor or your honing

It is definately the combination of all elements I think Ed
I have read about some blades having a buttery feel to them when shaving, this definately has it none of my others have so far,
just hoping the Sheffields can match it (no pressure), next in rotation is my similarly ground Bengall 6/8 round point & then a Barclay 605 Just-Rite square point
this should let me know if it is the full double hollow that works for me as all 3 have been given the same treatment v's my W&B hollow grinds
or if it just a fluke hone job that all fell into place for me

Unfortunately this proves my other smiling blades definately need more work to get to this feel.
