I like the Hart Steel, and take the extra to commission some custom scales or a custom brush to go with it.

I would get a E-Bay or Antique shop razor razor of my choice, some wood to make scales.
Take it to the buffer and hones and be happy with the $ I saved and FINALLY get a CHOSERA 1000K STONE.
That is just me though...
I'm really only looking at those in the original post... I own 20-30 vintage razors... Trying to add some more modern production razors to the mix
I would purchase a new Revisor....like this one:

I added up some of my razors to see what you can get with a $400 budget. Great vintage razors all for less than your budget. Simple choice for me! You don't need to spend a bunch of money to get high quality razors. All except one razor was found on Ebay. :D
In general I believe I'm pretty skeptical when a bandwagon forms about the hot item of the month. That being said, I have never felt an edge like my Filarmonica. Now there are obviously a lot of variables in this (how many I've owned, skill set, grind, who honed it etc), but trying to compare apples to apples in what I've owned, nothing yet compares to that Filly. Just feels silky smooth. That'd be my vote!
