You bought yourself a good reason to be excited. Good looking razor, I hope you enjoy it.
I didn't expect much when I opened the third coffin box, but my excitement quickly grew when I saw the arrow on the blade's face. I'm such a noob that the rest of the etch didn't mean anything to me, and I couldn't read the markings on the tang. But I suspected that I was looking at a Sheffield blade, possibly a Wade & Butcher.

So I asked the lady, "How much?" She told me to wait while she called her husband, and then she said, "20 dollars". So I paid her, figuring that $20 was a small chance to take.

When I got to the car, I immediately pulled up SRP on my cell phone and quickly confirmed that I was holding a W&B blade. I turned to my wife and said, "You're not going to believe this, but I think this may actually be a nice razor!" Then I checked the Bay, and found a couple of the same model razors that were in MUCH worse condition, but were going for $100+!

    I'm a very happy fella!

Now that I know what I have, I think that's exactly what I'll do! The last thing I want to do is screw things up!

Yeah for everyone else it goes like it did for me-
I see a coffin in a cabinet in an antique store. I have them pull it out and sure enough it's a W&B. It's in real bad shape, but I ask how much anyway - they say $150. Please...

Nice find. It'll look good all done up. All original is nice but if you have to rescale I'm a sucker for that honey horn. Can't get enough of that look at the moment.

    Yves81,

    Pix are up, here!
When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.
