There are many different manufacturers, grinds, types, weights and sizes to choose from.
You need to experiment to see what is best for you. There also are many sites /places where you can
shop for razors ... you have mentioned the largest ones in your post. You may want to scan the classifieds on SRP as well. Good luck with straight razor shaving!
One of the things that I did early on was I got a couple of sight unseen razors but specified the grind. They were quite reasonable in price and are an option. PM me if you are interested in ugly ducklings and I'll try to point you in the right direction.
Hart Steel makes a 7/8 that's a wonderful shaver.
Thinking about it a little, the best budget route to get a good 6/8 razor might be to look at older American razors. Manufacturers such as Genco, JR Torrey, Clauss, and T. Noonan all made models in 6/8. I have a 6/8 Clauss and I got it for less than $20 in good condition on Ebay. It gives a nice shave. Those other brands could probably be found for similar bargains.
