Another 8/8 + palmera, because you almost never see them for sale and they are fantastic shavers if you like extreame bellied hollows.
This one. Oh wait, I already own it.
I wanted a 6/8 French point in damascus steel, wrapped in Mammoth ivory scales that had my initials etched into them. It was a special present to myself for a tough year at work. Gabor Buddel nailed exactly what I wanted. I'm going to be burried with this razor.

This is SO hard to say since some of my best shaving razors were ones I wouldn't have thought would be so good. If money is of no concern and you want new, I'd suggest a 7/8 half hollow TI (preferably the Dominator, French point). If it's vintage you're after, the sky's the limit. Take your pick from extra hollow ground to wedge, 4/8 to 8/8, round tip, square tip, barber notch. My Wade and Butcher FBU wedge is one purchase I'd be happy to do again if it was to be done all over with. An extraordinary shaver and it takes a great edge. If I were going for a custom, I'd probably contact Max as his work is quite appealing.
9/8, smiling, Charlie Lewis fixed blade.
Yes. Not a great picture but that's mammoth ivory.
I would like to try a 7/8 Mastro Livi Spanish point in stainless. Stainless because for that cost, I want no risk of spotting or rust staring in the face with every shave. It is hard to bite because for that cost, I also want the best sharpening, best shaving, and most comfortable razor ever. Like many here, I have and have tried many razors and the ones that work best for me could not have been predicted in advance. Too bad there can not be a travelling box containing the best examples of custom and factory straights. We could then try them all and spend with confidence.
Zowada damascus with mammoth scales.
First of all, johnmrson, WOW! What a blade.
From what I've read and seen, I have to say the Mastro Livi experience would be my first choice. This might be cheating, but I'd choose to make my way overseas, meet the Mastro, see the blade being made (Damascus of course), and inform every aspect of its creation. That is the dream.
The funny thing is that once you receive your "dream razor", you just start dreaming about the next one...lol. I have a few now including a Sprecher, Ali's, Powell & now a Rodrigue...and I'm still dreaming of the next :)
This. Badly. And how.

If money was no object a NOS WADE AND BUTCHER 7/8 full wedge with heavy ivory scales:hmmm: now i'm dreaming
Something of the Damascus persuasion would make me a happy person.
Possibly a super-old razor would also be rather cool also.
I'll take them all. Wow
It was a hart 6/8. Check. Now its probably a Puma Gold 6/8.
A Damascus Mastro Livi Snake razor. Still haven't decided on the scales material and which kidney to sell.....
For me it's either a DePew "the perfect razor" or a GB Anchor wedge... Lost many an eBay auction on both. Sigh... Maybe one day :)
My dream Razor is in the works as I write this it's a Custom by Tim Zowada.
I heard a lot if things about the Doube Duck so one of them.
an something in the style of this:

I have always wanted a Charlie Lewis custom, they are just awesome looking razors, and all so individual
Got them all except for the next one ;-)
My dream razor was always a TI "Loup et Bellier" but then I joined here and was opened up to the world of custom razors and restored or NOS vintage razors...now I cannot make up my mind.
:shrug:There are so many... Difficult to decide.
But for sure Mastro Livi is a piece of art. :bow
This was my dream razor. And I got it....the very one pictured here. And I have to admit, it HAS quenched my thirst to some degree. While I have bought a few other razors since and probably will buy a few more, this one convinced me that there are great razors out there but with what I have, I can really be happy. So I'll add a new one here and there but I'm hoping to only replace something else in my collection that I'm not that thrilled with. This is what I'm saying today. We'll see if I'm still feeling this way next week.

For me, a W.M. Greaves and Sons - Fine India Steel - For Barber's Use, or Dennis's, Wade and Butcher 7/8 Frameback....
A thread like this shows up regularly.
Ans yes, I still got my dream razor.
I have mine (8/8 W&B near full hollow with original scales) but I know it never ends :)
Fun thread!
A great big smiler.

Max Sprecher with Faux Tortoise
scales in 7/8. Visited Max in Las Vegas watched him do his magic and his work is perfect - and a great guy to boot
Very possibly these are my absolute, ultimate dream razors:
http://theshiveringbeggar.com/wp-con...y-Archbald.jpg
Made by Green & Pickslay in 1826 from steel alloyed with silver, rhodium and iridium. Owned by William Archbald of Kelso, Scotland.
And maybe, JUST MAYBE, previously by Michael Faraday. I'm still trawling archives to trace the pair Pickslay sent to Faraday, but there's a tiny chance these are them.
I'm very happy with them even if they weren't the ones Pickslay gave to Faraday, though.
For me it would be a Filarmonica especial para barbas duras
That is easy. A vintage 7/8 Spanish point with real tortoise shell scales. In mint condition, of course. Would pay almost anything.
You mean like this one?

Sadly, it isn't mine.
I've chased each and every one of my dream razors down, one by one:)
Sure, yet another Buddel, Livi or Earl would still tickle me should I come across it, but in honesty, I am pretty much set with what I do have right now!
