I was looking through some stuff and found what I think was my grandpa's straight razor. It says dubl duck satinedge with the 2 ducks between dubl and duck on one side of the shank and the dubl duck/ 2 ducks on the right side of the shank with pearlduck above the 2 ducks and solingen below the 2 ducks. Does anyone know if this particular razor fits in the 1930's/1940's time period which is when I'm assuming he would have bought it.
The razor is in really good shape except that whoever sharpened it made the edge kind of wavy instead of straight. It has a small stain on one side of the blade but looks like it could be re-honed and be a shaver. I tried to strop it but it wouldn't even get close to sharp. Is it possible for a blade to be too thin to re-sharpen? Thanks for any info.
