Long Term Storage of Razors...Straight and Japanese
I have a few razors that I would like just to put up for the future and not have to worry about them rusting and having to check on them except rarely. I am wondering what the best preparation would be. I have some stuff that I have purchased...."Tuf Glide " protectant, "Renaissance Wax", and "Rust Blocker Strips". Supposedly the Tuf Glide is an oil free, micro bonding, dry lubricant, that stops rust from starting.....the wax is what museums use (so they say) and doesn't have any acids and will prevent rust......finally the "Bullfrog" rust blocker strips are supposed to stop rust in any enclosed space where there is metal for a full year. I don't know exactly how this works. I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed or if there are better alternatives. I was wondering if the razor should be unwrapped from the paper so it could get the benefit of the rust blocker. Any ideas?
