No not the most famous reindeer of them all but do those of you with many razors recall the circumstances surrounding the acquisition of every one of your razors?
I'll go first, no I don't.
Now no fibbing cause we may make you prove it to us.

how many is many?
Yes, all 13 of them. But I'm not sure this number qualifies as "many razors"...
Cheers.
Probably when you cannot estimate how many you have to the nearest couple of hundred.
In answer to the original question, absolutely, no I do not. I suppose I could have kept a database tracking each of them but I'm already trying to find time to have a life and such a thing really was/is not high on my priority list. Heck, I don't have time to make a priority list.
Many is a relative term.
Confucius say: If shoe fit wear it.
Yes. I have almost 300. I remember buying some of them over 20 years ago in antique stores. Now it srp or ebay and still antique stores
Being that I've kept my RAD under control with the exception of those razors given to me and one new from the factory Revisor. Yes I know how or when I acquired each of my razors/straight and DE!
The funny thing is that I've given almost every razor that I've bought away to help those wanting to get started in this Older But Better Way of Shaving!
I would Never give a razor that was given to me away Never!
I did donate one straight to a local museum with the 90+ year olds former owners' permission! It was his grandfather's and he acquired it in the 1940's. It came in the coffin box it was purchased in and the box included the name of a local company here where I live. I'd called the owner and asked permission to donate it and he was thrilled to have it on display. While he of course doesn't actively 'farm' the farming still includes the original homestead of his grandfather and the man has the Original Deed signed by President Theodore Roosevelt!

Not I said the moose ...... no way could I remember where/when I got all the ones I have ....... and no way I can even remember all the ones that have moved on. Remember some of 'em, the ones I wish I still had. :p
More or less. But I bought almost all of my razors off the SRP classifieds, ebay, or etsy. The only ones I bought from a shop were my dovo shavette and a dovo best quality.
Remembering might be a bit of a stretch. I could do a little checking of records and come up with an accurate story. For the most part the answer is no. It isn;t that I have that many just that there are some things that are more important than others. I have limited space in my head and it is soooo disorganized.
I have to agree with RezDog. Insignificant information is never stored in my memory. Don't ask me what day it is ,the time, or how many razors I own (let alone where i got them) With the exception of gifts I would have to look it up. Now ask me what size the nuts are on a 3406 Cat starter or the u joint bolts on a KW drive train and I could tell ya :<0)
I honestly had a great memory for this at first, down to how much I paid for each one. that lasted for the first couple hundred and i would pick one up from a drawer or box and instantly recalled the details like rainman. after going through thousands i cant remember jack about the details save for a few!
Yes, I'm up to about 40 blades, and I remember the where, how and how much for each. I generally have a good memory, but at just about a year into this, it's not really that much of a stretch to recall the circumstances.
And I'll never forget the where, when and how much of that darned cursed Double Duck Goldedge.....the razor that bites us!!!:tameshigiri:
Phrank you need an 8/8 Duck :<00
No, but I do remember where I got a few of the special ones.
Funny about memory and that sort of thing. As a kid, reading The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes early on, I was impressed by a part where Watson is amazed that Holmes could be so conversant in esoteric, arcane facts, yet so totally clueless when it came to common knowledge the average person took for granted.
When Watson asked him about the seeming contradiction Holmes explained that there is only finite space for the memory to store knowledge and he immediately culls any useless knowledge from his mind, to have ready access to what would further his crusade against crime.
So having read that, and being greatly impressed with it, I've tried to do that in my own head. On another note, when I first got out of the union hall to my first ironwork job at 19 years old, I thought that I would remember every job I ever went on. Wasn't long before I couldn't remember one from another except for the big long term jobs. Memory, it's like "Rosebud" if you know what I mean, and just in case you don't ....... :)

Many famous minds always dressed the same every day, Einstein always wore the same grey suit, no socks, and his famous unkempt hair. Many other famous people, Steve Jobs etc., always dressed the same so that they didn't waste any brain power trying to manage a wardrobe or have to decide what to wear.
So as we all expected JimmyHAD, you're in good company...
