I switch between my straight razors in every shave, as a newbie SR user I may say it affects the technique because brain tries to repeat movements from the last shave. Every razor(straights/DEs/SEs etc.) has it's own characteristics so the skin and technique are effected if user is not experienced enough.

When you first start out, switching between sizes and grinds may pose a bit of a challenge, but essentially, the technique remains the same, maybe their might be some tweaks in terms of pressure and angle, but once the fundamentals are there, I find there's no adjustment any longer.
Now put a DE in my hand and it take me much longer to shave, and still find holding it somewhat awkward....

Well i decided to use one week de one week shavette

I dove into Straights and never looked back. DE's give me the willies, scare the heck out of me... No clue why...
When I saw this I was trying to figure out the techniques behind a wedge, 1/4, half and hollows :p

Once you learn you can switch sizes and grinds and go from straight to DE without even thinking about it. it's like driving a typical car and going to a small truck. You adjust quickly.

All my straights(10)are the same brand,same grind,same size,same scales,all my brushes (7) are the exact same Knot,Same Loft,same handle.
I Only use 3 soaps (all cheap stuff) Cella, Tabac, Palmolive,at my age I hate change,I do what I know works.
Boreing to some perhaps.if it ain't broke do not fix it,took me 50 yrs to realize that.
