Trying to find info on a razor that belonged to my grandfather that was given to me along with some of his safety razors. Markings on the razor include Lauterjung and Sohn and the Puma emblem on one side of the tang and Puma with the number 20 on the other. Scales appear to be either ivory or bone/horn. On the box both Soligen-S and Sheffield. Assuming this means made in Solingen using steel from Sheffield. Writing on the box appears to be German, have read somewhere that at one time this company used English writing on boxes for razors imported to the US. That article did not specify if at any time exported production included German print on the boxes. My grandfather did serve in WWI and if I remember correctly spent some of his time post war in Germany.
What I am wanting to know is could this razor have come from Germany (WWI era) or could it have been purchased in the US pre WWI era? Basically, approximately when could this razor have been produced/purchased. Have not been able to find much info on this razor myself, would appreciate any info anyone can give me on this razor.
