    Default Frederick Reynolds

Here's a Frederick Reynolds I put together from parts to make a good straight razor. Awhile back I bought around ten sets of scales that were removed from straight razors because they either had bad blades or had custom scales made but I already had a blade I was waiting for scales & I finally got some. I forgot to take pics of the scales I used but the other scales shown are a good idea of what they looked like before. I sanded the scales on both sides of each one. The insides of them still showed the saw marks from when they were first made but I got rid of them by sanding the insides & out, then finishing off at 3000 grit sandpaper. The scales came out nice after hand polishing with Maas. The only thing new on this razor are the brass pins, i re-used the original collars. Before the blade couldn't be seen through the scales but after sanding & polishing the scales are translucent.
