Thread: New Finds

I spent last week looking, shopping, and cleaning. I didn't spend a lot of money and I want to get them shave ready, but don't want to waste time and effort on a razor not 'up to speed'. This is my first venture. If I like str8's, I'm sure I'll be looking for a razor in Mint condition. Meanwhile, I appreciate any comments or suggestions. The one in the top is in the best shape and almost shaves. The only identifier is Sheffield English steel. The second best shape is Wester Bros. 34 DE-FI with some discoloration on the blade. The rest are as follows:
ERN Crown and Sword has some discoloration on the blade; another with ivory scales also with discoloration on the blade says "Mango Steel" D. Peres Soligen; Expert Barber 400 ivory scales and silver pins and bolsters some discoloration, and the last is one called "Black Pearl" with plastic liners on the blade between the scales it also has some discoloration. I want to have someone do a great honing job on the best of the lot and practice on a few. The discoloration are left from my attempts to polish rust and oxidation from the blaseds. I wet sanded them with 600 grit and polished them with 0000 stell wool and buffed with MAAS. I wonder about continuing to try to remove the faint marks or leave well enough alone. Recommendations are appreciated.
